Yes, ryno, it is. Items absorb and selectively reflect light to our eyes. Some refract, bend light as a view of a stick pushed halfway into clear water, giving an illusion of a bent stick. A diamond works on reflection and refraction. The refraction creates a dispersion of light and colors shows as from a prism from a colorless body. Birds, beetles and other critters amaze me with the colors. I guess feathers might be both reflective and refractive in some birds. Then, where do beetles with shiny armor get that wondrous metallic sheen! Oh my, I got carried away. Tom.
