Subject: Unparenting figures?

This is really stupid of me, but it happened earlier today, and since I'm browsing here, I might as well ask. I have a series of pz3s with 3 figures, 2 of which are parented to the 1st one. When I tried to unparent them, it didn't work. I used 'set figure parent = UNIVERSE' in the menu. Then I tried in the hier editor, but I already knew that wouldn't work, and it didn't. I could do it in the cr2, but I'm puzzled. What have I forgotten? mac

I think this is only legal in California, but only with a court order :)

I just use the Set Fig Parent menu option but do not select anything, just click the OK

hi phil, That was quick! Well, I just tried it and it doesn't work, which is strange. Mind you, I'm reputed to have a haunted copy of poser. I have all sorts of weird stuff that no one else has. And the things I've asked CL seem to have them baffled too. I'll try it later in P5 and P6. mac

Mac, I just tried this using Set Figuire Parent, and contrary to what I expected, I got the same results as you. Funny I never noticed that before! What does work for me is selecting the Body, then from the Object menu, Change Parent > Universe.

Ahhhhh! Good one, les. I just tried it and it works. I wonder why that is? I can't remember ever noticing this before either. I thought it was my weird issue of poser. Glad you got the same result with yours! Thanks again. mac
