Subject: Searching for morphing stockings

SaintFox ( ) posted Sat, 11 June 2005 at 2:46 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 4:42 PM

Hi all,

I have got a request for an image oriented on vintage pinups like Elvgren etc. did.
For this image I need a pair of stockings that have some built-in morphs to loosen them. In other words: The whole thing should look as if the stockings are detached from a garter and now are sliding down the leg. Does someone know a resource where I can download/buy something like that? Maybe there is a way to do the scene with dynamic clothes (and are there dynamic stockings availale anywhere)? The only thing I've found round here where the socks that Wusamah made for "Love Anybody", but they're way too thik and too short.

Thanks a lot for your advice (and sorry for my english, I hope I could make my question clear...)

Meike

I have some conforming stockings in my store, but they don't have the morphs you're looking for. I'd suggest you look in PhilC's store here (or maybe his site) - he has some V3 dynamic-cloth stockings that should do the trick.

Thanks a lot, Spanki (well, THAT was fast!). I'll see if my customer is willing to pay for the stockings and then contact PhilC for details. By the way: Thanks for pointing me on your stockings, now I know which stockings I've used at work (and got myself a copy of them for my home pc, they're really great!).

I think Spanki's right, dynamics are probably your best bet to pull that off. I don't see V2 in your gallery (I didn't look far yet - but I will, these look good) so you might want to try and clothify Spanki's stockings which fit V3. I did suggest morphs of this kind to Awful Soul a while back and they did say they were going to try it but they've yet to do another lingerie set. If you're going for a pin-up like that, you might want to go the whole way and try for a paint finish. Deep Paint 2 has been made freeware and will go a long way towards getting the result using art media settings with its clone brush. You can download it here: http://www.download.com/Deep-Paint/3000-2191_4-10398243.html?tag=lst-2-7

Oops! Cross posted there - I always take too long to type replies. (I can type fast enough but get distracted) I agree about Spanki's stockings, I've got about four or five in my runtime but his are still the only one's I use.

Thanks for the comments (and the purchase ;). Oddly enough, I've never tried to clothify my stockings, but I've been meaning to try it. They are actually not completely welded at the toe (there's an extremely small opening at the toe) - which should be how the cloth room wants the mesh to be, but then again, that area might go all whacky... I may give it a try after I get up today (erm, hadn't got off to bed just yet ;).

Hi all, I own V2 but didn't use her a lot because there are far better textures for V3, it also seems easieer to modify her face. As I wanted to use MindVision's Corset for the image (it has that vintage look I'm looking for) I think I'm bound for V3. Yes, I know, I could modify it - but the ordered image is paid a bit poor for such an effort :o( I've just found svdl's Dynamic Lingerie for V3. Maybe I'll give them a try (after having a little snoozr time havn't sleeped today, too...). But I'll have a look back here, it would be great if I could use your stockings, Spanki, because I have some great textures for them at my work-pc! Sorry, I had to delete this and write it again for some VERY embarassing typos

Spanki, Please post the results of your attempt to use your stockings in the cloth room! I've made several socks/stockings for Poser figures in the pas and tried to use them in the cloth rom, either to "tighten" then to the figure or as dynamic clothing. the problem I've seen is that the cloth seems to bunch up and interpenatrate the toes no matter what settings I use. I make a full "cap" over the toe area. If you find that leaving a very small opening at the toe helps I'd be really interested. PS I really like your stockings they have some fo the best UV mapping (based on the market place images) I've seen. i can see that my poor credit card is going to get hurt again. mike

FWIW Wardrobe Wizard can fit Spanki's Stockings to a V3 the has more leg definition. The more I experiment with it I find it will do things I don't know if it was designed to do.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

@nickedshield: If you come up with something interesting would you let me know? I'm not common with the Wardrobe Wizard, I downloaded the demo but couldn't get it to work as I wanted it to. So I hesitate buying it...

SaintFox, A quick pointer on WW, the demo is restricted to the P4,5 and 6 figures. You need the full to work with the other figures. Secondly, if you are running P6, WW has a few quirks caused by CL's Python, not WW's coding. Assuming you'll get the full eventually here's a way to fit Spanki's stockings to a more muscular V3: load your figure, turn off the IK and zero load the stockings and conform to V3 Turn off the transparency so you can see the stockings. They probably will show massive poke through. then it's a matter of using the Inflate All script and the Inflate x and Inflate z scripts. I can't say how much of each to use, that is dependent on your figure. you can try this out with one of the demo compatible figures that have long socks or stockings.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Thanks a lot, now I know why nothing happend when I used the tool. I'm using P6 only, my P5 is an empty envelop, just containing the essentials, I've moved the runtie over to P6 after installing the patch. Well, maybe, after selling this and that, I will give the Wardrobe a try, anyway. Sounds interesting - and maybe the Python problems are solved during the next weeks/months.

Don't know when CL will fix the Python issues. From what I've been reading Kamilche, the WW programmer, has been trying to get a fix.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

SaintFox ( ) posted Sun, 12 June 2005 at 7:52 PM

I'm sure, the problems with Python will be fixed in the usual time: "Soon"... ;o)
