For you action/adventure fans a new (finally) follow up item (to DANGER) in the ActionJunction line.

Here is a sneak peek.

The Body Suit - I'm flying solo here without my partner theMadpainter (still fighting medical problems) who normally handles our texturing side of our project, but I think for a basic second skin for V3 this turned out looking rather nice if non too fancy. 13 color mats and one injection pose for loading the V3 spandex morph with the dial settings I use, along with (optional) foot sock morph.

Hi you two! Thanks for the kudos. Its good to be back in the saddle. Here is a few more renders showing some more details of the set.

The shoulder harness, good for hanging extra gear on. Not shown well, but I have some extra prop keepers (such as the orange looking things by the beacon and flashlight) for both the harness and the utility belt (preview of it coming up). Basically, I tried to think of stuff that would make this set utilitarian and yet still keep it streamlines so that Poser is not cluttered up with a bunch of unnecessary junk. I also, of course, want my clothing to work semi-real world, so where it is practical to do so, straps, pockets, etc., open/close, and items can be posed somewhat as real world items might.

Some what better look at the utility belt with props. Has a limited range of poseablity, such as opening the belt, case flaps (hard to see), against the belt, leg straps. Lantern uses an interesting little smart prop/point at set up, that while not entirely original on my part makes for a great way to have the lantern move with the figure or to have the pose easily manually adjusted. The other neat thing is I got the gun holster, thigh straps, and gun to NOT warp all out of whack when the leg is pose. Most of you know what I mean. There is still a slight amount of distortion on the twist axis, but is easy fixed by manually adjusting the yrot dial on the thigh (straps) if a pose needs it (not many - it really does conform pose nicely).

A rather nice set (IMO) of flatsoled (no heel) boots. Nothing super fancy other wise. A few morphs so they can be simulated being opened and put on or taken off. Very slight poke thru problem with V3 toes on certain toe bends. Easily fixed by hiding the toes or feet (nornally not seen in the boots anyhow). Pose file included for that, so both feet can be hidden with a single click of the mouse if needed.

Another idea I thought clever, though not totally original with me. Smart props for weapons are nice - since trying to put them into the hands can be a real pain some time, but I see where conforming props can be more practical. Both for getting into the hands, but also, in this case, I can load both hands at once, and take advantage of geometry swithing to swap out weapons as needed. In this case, with the turn of a dial I can go from empty (right or left) hand to holding an airgun, 9shot, or knife. Another neat thing about this set up, is it can be controlled by Pose presets as well, just like any other figure. And because the set up is a bit non standard Poser, I can apply the pose regardless of which figure is active, and still have it work (so long as I only have one instance of the Dial-a-Wep loaded in my scene. If I have two or more in use, I will have to first select the one I want and apply the pose, otherwise Poser will just pick the first one it lists as being loaded. Oh well, nothings perfect. :O)

One more for now, just to wrap things up and show you what the set looks like with V3 in play. As well as how nicely everything conform poses and fits (no extra dial tweaking was needed on these poses, except for a quick drag with the mouse on the "pa" for the lantern in the Kneeling pose to get it to hang down, instead of following the leg bend. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Also, if you have any favorite Full Body Morphs you would like to see me include, let me know. I am going back and forth there on whether or not to add them in. I have some basic shaping morphs that can be used to adjust the fit to most figure shapes, but some folks like the One dial solution better. :O) Lastly, I will probably throw in some poses, similar to some of the ones seen here (not all these are mine). Basically action based poses, or poses showing the clothing items being manipulated.

shadownet ( ) posted Thu, 23 June 2005 at 8:22 PM

Oops, just noticed an fragment of a partial erase on Danger's left hip next to the lantern. (Picture on left (your right) with her holding the two guns, running. This is a goof from my layering the different Poser renders in Corel. (No other post work was done, other than to arrangement) The hard pack was on the ground beside the image behind her, and I thought I had erased from the scene. Apparantly I only got part, and when I merged layers it came through. That is not part of the outfit.

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 24 June 2005 at 8:07 AM

Thanks to all for the nice comments. @Arvanor, yeah I know, V3 is so spoiled. :O) Right now time is still very much a factor for me so I am focusing on working with just one figure, and V3 is my preference. I know/use it best/most and overall it seems to be the more popular with other users. So, probably not one for Michael just yet, but maybe down the road. The V3 male morph is in the works though. No renders to show of it yet, since I have not finished the morphs necessary for the clothing to fit it to that body shape, but the cat is out of the bag.... When done, the set will be a His & Hers, fitting the default V3 Female (and maybe some of the Full Body Morph shapes, such as Tone, Muscular, Barbarian, etc.) and the V3 Male morph. I mostly use the default V3 shape, so if you have preference for other Full Body shape morphs, let me know. I am not making promises to add them all, but I will consider adding the ones that get the most requests or seem best suited to an action set. In fact, this is a good time to post any requests you might have for this set. Again, no promises, but I will certainly consider them. How often do you get asked to participate in the design of a new Poser set? So here's your chance.

Virtua36 ( ) posted Fri, 24 June 2005 at 9:03 AM

I know this is a clothing set,but please include the Lara character morph you used in the pics.;-) The muscular and male morphs would be fine(these are the ones that I'm using most)I think some of the different breast sizes need to be added too.

shadownet ( ) posted Fri, 24 June 2005 at 9:48 AM

Vitua36, the Lara (er cough, I mean celebrity Movie Heroine lookalike) is coming soon. A certain someone, well known for his superb texture work and "CGI Personalities series" is working on a head and body texture set for me. When he gets that done, we will release the character set. Probably some time this coming month.

No need for breast size morphs in this case as only the harness covers the upper body is open in the front. The body suit is a second skin texture set for V3 so obviously any morphs for V3 are covered automatically there. Again, streamline is what I am going for so as not to clutter up Poser with unnecessary resourse gobbling stuff (why I went with second skin over say modeling a catsuit).

I am taking a similar approach on any morphs I include. I want to keep the morphs streamlined and utilitarian, and yet still make them user friendly. What I am plotting - and it seems to be working - is to have a series of fit adjustment morphs in the body part groups that can be used to tweak the clothing here and there to fit other than the default V3 shape. I will then attempt to set up a few V3 similar FBMs to tie these body part morphs together so that you turn one dial, and vola, you get Muscular 1, or Barbarian 2, etc.

Not as complicated as it might sound. And it does seem to be working. Not going to try to cover all the FBM, but I will attempt to get the ones I think should be included or that I get a number of requests.

The sort of good news for any of the FBM I do not set up a dial for, is that it might still be possible to manually set the adjustment morphs in the body group to fit the clothing to this body shape. This is great for V3 characters that use custom morphs instead of the stock V3 body morphs. Or a combo of the two.

One hundred percent perferct, results guarenteed - No, not hardly. Even I am not that ambitious or conceited enough to try doing all that. But I think I can get the clothing to fit better than it might otherwise on a very wide range of body shapes, without having to make custom morphs for each and every body shape.

Well, that's the plan. I'll let you know how it turns out. :O)

These are great news.So I can get this fantastic set with the matching fantastic character(and probably put my work on my own Lara to rest,'cause I think I'll never be satisfied and modify her over and over again.;-)

As a bonus item, here is the WetSet to fit the V3male morph. Requires the Male morph for V3 and Male spandex morph. I am calling this an bonus item as the set is being optimised to work on the default V3 figure. Clothing that conforms well and fits well when posed on the default V3 can sometime run into minor poke thru probs when Full Body figure shapes are used. At least in my experience. I work to try to prevent this, but my main focus is always on making the items work as good as I can get them on the default figure.

In addition to the male FBM version, I have decided to include these Full Body morphs as well:

Barbarian1, Muscular1, Tone, Young, PinUp, Buxom, Voluptuous, Faerie.

@Vitua36 - Thanks! I really do want this to be a fantastic set! One that is not only fun, but verstatile and works well in Poser.

:)))))) Where is the Harpoon?? Message671426.jpg Great set !!!!

shadownet ( ) posted Tue, 28 June 2005 at 4:54 PM

Thanks :O)

Harpoon! Bah, that is so old fashion. Get in step with the times. What you need is a really hi-tech, hi powered multi-firing, mini harpon spitting airgun, complete with exploding harpon rounds. This baby doesn't just spear the fish, it toasts and fillets. Hmmm, that's some good eating. hehe. :O)

dorkati ( ) posted Wed, 29 June 2005 at 1:00 AM

Don't hurt poor harpoon...it was so good against enemies :) It was one of my best weapon when I played with Lara....and I played really sooo much:) (I made levels too)

To those of you following this thread, just wanted to let you know the WetSet is nearly ready.

It would have been done sooner, but I decided to make a few last minute changes, which I thought would be improvements.

I decided the knife and sheath would be more versatile as a smart prop, instead of a conforming figure. Works exactly as it did before, same morphs, etc. But now you can use it with other figures, beside V3. The straps have adjustment morphs, so you should be able to fit it to most figures, or perhaps even a different body part, such as an arm, instead of the leg.

I wanted to keep the conforming version of the Dial-a-Wep for V3, but I also wanted to make this item so that it could be used with other, non V3, figures. So, I added smart prop versions for the right and left hand. (along with standard stand alone smart props of these items) They are set up to fit to V3's hands, but being smart props, you can easily change this to fit them to any figure you want.

In addition to the 9 FBM I mentioned earlier - (1)muscular 1, (2) barbarian 1, (3) tone, (4) pinup, (5) voluptuous, (6) young, (7) faerie, (8) Buxom, and (9) the bonus Male and Male spandex morph version of the set. I also included my maggie (magnet host conforming figure) for the S-Harness and U-Belt (the other items really did not need one). For those of you who know the power and usefulness of magnets, for making morphs, fitting clothing, or posing the clothing, you will love the maggie set up. It makes loading and removing the magnets, as simple as working with any Poser figure. You can also save the maggie settings to the Pose library as Pose files, making it possible to create individual and animated pose presets.

Yippie! The WetSet is ready to be uploaded to the store, so it should be out very soon now. I will let you know. In the meantime, if you want to check out some of the features I have talked about or get a little more details in general on the WetSet, I have an on-line version of the Use Guide that comes with the set. This should answer most, if not, all of the question you might have. Any others, just IM or email me. I am always glad to try to help when I can. [This is a plain text (txt) document, with no word wrap I hope I have it formatted okay to display on most browsers.] http://edgeofnever.net/text/AJ_WetSet_User.txt

BTW, to anyone who likes my idea for the GHost and Maggie set up and wishes to use it, either in a free or commercial package, please do so. No need to write and ask. Use it, improve on it, etc.

Again versatility was my goal, the render shows the WetSet used with a few props I found in Free Stuff. So don't just get locked into thinking underwater scenes. :O)

dorkati ( ) posted Wed, 03 August 2005 at 5:27 AM

I'm just playing with it...how many setting options! Really good and time-spare idea the changing-type weapon and GHost figure! :) I love this Set!
