When exporting a figure from Poser to use in C4D which settings should I use? Am I safe to use the default settings?

You will probably want to
uncheck "Include figure names in polygon groups"
check "Include existing groups in polygon groups"
uncheck "Weld body part seams"

What your going to do with the figure in C4D and what version of C4D you have might make a difference.

You should try combinations until you get what you expect after importing.
If your planning to export the figure back to Poser, you'll need to check what C4D exports for each combination.

I'm no expert but I go from P5-6 and C4D 8.5 often. Poser Obj. Format Vs C4D has issues, not the most of it is normals and scale. Output your model from poser - whatever settings you need. Load your model in Objaction Scaler (free) http://www.sandylodge.demon.co.uk/ Scale Up 1000% Save the Large model and try to import into C4D. If you have issues - then run it through UVMapper, Just load and save - http://www.uvmapper.com/ When you go back to Poser you might have to Flip "normals" - experiment! JP

You can use the default setting unless you are exporting to create a morph. If you are exporting to create a morph then you would also click the "As a morph target" option as well.
