What version of Poser are you using? I used my own face in the face room (using poser6) It came out pretty close, although I had to work with it a while. You use the Photo import feature using both front and side shots of your face. It's pretty cool!

I have had no luck at all with the Face Room when trying to clone real faces. (Some people like the Face Room, I don't.) However, with Michael and Victoria, and their head morph packs, you have enough versatility to eyeball it. I have cloned a few friends on Michael 3.0 and Victoria 3.0, and have done a darn good job without fooling around with it too long. (A good texture map to go with it helps too.) When I first got Poser, I got my face pretty close on Michael 2.0. The biggest limitations with the head morph packs for Michael and Victoria is that neither handle age wrinkles or fat in the face very well. For either of those, you need to go to magnets.

Wow, Wolf, ive seen you post several images of your CGI clone, but this is the first time Ive seen you put a comparison real life pic next to it. Dude, you nailed it!!! Thats a really impressive job, and there is no question thats yer mug in that render.

I started out doing mine with Posette and a mirror. LOL When I got P6, I discovered the face room. I started with the "apply shape",and got terrible weirdness. Now I just use the photos for the texture and basic shape, then use the dials to do the rest.I think I've done my face so many times,I can spin the dials almost without looking. It was the way I learned.I'm just now beginning to fool with V3 in the same way. The parameters are a little different for her than with the poser models. I think you did a beautiful job with your face!!! Where exactly is the problem? I find the texture maps are geared more to blonds with freckles. I am half Native American, and don't own a single freckle. LOL

V3 , no magnets, just spinning the dials.

Incidentally, does anyone know of any good sites from which to get left/right/centre photos of faces suitable for use with the face room?

I've heard (actually, read) a lot of Poser merchants mention www.3d.sk. There are probably other sites, and I know there are CDs for sale with those kinds of face shots on them.

Hi all thanks so much for your reply's I recently purchased my 1st copy of Poser 6, I am a beginner, I know I will be spending many hours playing with ways to create my own face in Poser 6. I am a little older now, and I want to use a younger me in Poser 6 and only have one front on pic of my face to use. Do you think it will be enough to use in the poser face room. Other than that is anyone up to the challenge to do it for me?? I am happy to pay Wolf are you interested? your render looks great, thanks for your openess to show it.

The Face Room may be enough, or you may have to go the route of getting Michael 3.0 and the head morphs. Try it yourself first- you may very well find that it's not that hard.
