Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 23 9:03 pm)
Apollo isn't a unimesh figure. He's constructed very differently. He does pose very well just not with M3 poses. The fact that M3 poses don't work with Apollo, isn't a reason to not get the figure. It's a superior figure in so many ways and I honestly think you will be missing out if you decide to not get him based on the fact that he isn't compatible with M3 poses.

Anyway, back to the original pose question.... hopes there is someone ambitious ;)

Apollo does come with numerous poses. Also there is another pose set for Apollo at RDNA with some wonderful poses. Check out http://www.runtimedna.com/index.ez?&Form.sess_id=3843155&Form.sess_key=1121113322 you might find something you like. As for Apollo not being unimesh like the problematic DAZ figures with massive injection files. Is that a problem, or an advancement? -jay
The reason why Mike's poses doesn't work on Apollo is that Apollo's zero-pose isn't the usual T-pose but more of an akimbo stance. That's why the arms get wonky. Leg poses work far better. And tehre's a LOT of poses, both full and partial included when you buy him.

She does. You can't use V3's poses on GIRL either. Not without some funky results at least :o)

Expecting Apollo to take Mil poses is like expecting the dragon to take Mil poses. If Apollo "was" immitating the mil figures, then he would take mil poses. Since Apollo "isn't" immitating the mil figure, then he doesn't take mil poses. I hope that makes sense. This should "not" be seen as a "problem" with either Apollo or the Girl.

There are some great AM pose sets, and he does pose better with more joints, more bones, and less distortion. So what to do? I think would be really useful for newbie Apollo owners wanting to rapidly build up a library of AM poses is get their paws on a collection of partial poses like how Snow Sultan does them (see Battle Bonanza on R'osty and the V2 and M2 pose sets at PoserStyle). Then people could be off and running. (Partial Poses would be handy for The Girl and any non "T" zero characters too)

A pose convertor isn't really needed in my opinion. Most poses for "human-like" figures work across board. Some may need a bit of a tweak to dig fingers out of the hip or let or something, but as bad as I am in Poser, I've managed to do that with those coloured circles that allow joint movement across the 3 axis. Sorry, but I don't know the name of that tool. I'm just waiting on dinner, I think I'll save that picture and try and pose Apollo myself. Unlikely that I'll have succes, but I'll give it a go anyway. At least I'll pick up some "Oooops" tips along the way, LOL

A full body ERC Human would be interesting. I have asked the brillant python programer Kam if there could be a Mac compatible and multi figure supported version of Pose Genie. I can only cross my fingers and hope. I've wanted that little python script for for long, but my cute little Mac just won't run it. Bummer. So you nonMac people can try to run Apollo through PoseGenie, and maybe it'll speed posing up, but I don't really know. Apollo is rigged a lot differently than V2, for whom PoseGenie was originally written for by Bushi. (but I've seen other figures use PoseGenie, so maybe it will work.) bB
Apollo's extra body parts would make proper conversion unlikely. Convertors would have no idea what to tell the new body parts to do. And ignoring them would hardly be an option. Mil figures are poses to mimimize distortion, as most figures are. If that distortion doesn't exist on the destination figure, then transferring the pose will just create new distortion. I strongly discourage even trying to use Mil Poses on Aopollo. It will just look lousy and need so much tweaking, the time is better spend making a custom pose from scratch.

I've almost got Apollo in that pose :) I started right after I said I was going to and worked on him for about 5 or so minutes then logged out. I just have to get the torso, fingers, and feet posed properly. The torso doesn't look that hard, but the fingers and toes? Not looking forward to those, hehe I'll post an image when I'm done and if anyone wants a copy of my novice pose, I'll be more than happy to share it. He is sooooo much easier to pose than Michael. The movements are fluid and smooth. I think I may actually start being able to make some of my own poses... at least with Apollo :)

Thank you :) I'll try all by myself first, and if needed, I'll fudge a bit and use one of the poses from the folder. But I really want to try doing this from scratch :) It's the only way I'll learn. I've been tweaking joints for awhile now, so I think it's time I try for a bit more.

I understand completely. Hope you have fun. Rememebr to pose the arm in three parts. UpArm,Shldr,Collar. The included poses demonstrate. And the pelvis is great for "S" curves to the spine. Also, the timeline is great for making psoes. 1)Create your pose at frame 1 2)Tweak it at Frame 30 3)Slide the slider to around frame 15 to get the best of both. Enjoy!!

Anyway, here it is. I used to date a body builder and watched his narcisistic behaviour in front of the mirror, so I strived for center balance and alignment.
If anyone wants a copy of it, let me know. Someone willl have to tell me how to go about saving it so that others can use it though. I have no clue about that.

That creases aren't that bad really. I think it is pronounced by twisting as seen in the forearm too. I would load your pose that the beginning of the animation timeline and then tweak it at the end of the timelines, then slide the slider till it looks better. Or you can redo the pose completely under a new name and blend the to to soften the rough spots. It is a tough area on any figure but blending two poses usually softens the harder areas to tweak. Hope that helps.

I'm not good at making poses from scratch, and M3 poses don't work with Apollo. Is there anyone who has Apollo and feels adventurous enough to tackle a pose for him? I saw this pose in the freebies here for M3, and it would be perfect for Apollo...."It is good to see ourselves as others see us. Try as we may, we are never
