Subject: V3 Figure Height Calculation - Need some help

3DNeo ( ) posted Thu, 14 July 2005 at 12:09 AM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 7:13 AM

I need some feeback on determining my measurements for V3. According to my scale, measureing in feet/inches, V3 has the following height set at the following scales:

100% Default is about 6'2-6'3

91% about 5'4

85% about even at 5 foot.

Of course height varies in between, but those are what I come up with when the figure is put against a prop scale for height measurement. If that seems about right from what you guys have done, please let me know.

I'm trying to make some realistic poses and not everyone is the same height so I wanted to stagger my figures to look more real in size. Had no idea V3 was such an AMAZON in default size - sheesh! I just wasn't sure this was correct and wanted to double check. Also, does anyone know if S3, M3 and David are about the same as well?

Thanks for the input.

Jeff

Poser figures actually are too Small and should be about twice the size they are currently. I say this because the joint system moves incrementally and figures/toes are tough in current scale. I have always felt that measurement is an illusion in Poser. Jim Buton had posted this one he did at PoserPros.

I have said this so many times... but I will again.... Wouldnt it be wonderful if we could type in the measurements of a model have vicky (or whoever) morphed to that size? Think of all the applications poser would suddenly be useful for! Just get that and other real world numbers into poser and I would be thrilled. (slight aside for anton... you mentioned Venus Maximus... would Artemis be a better name? Apollo's sister, moon godess etc?)

The way many people use Poser females, I think Venus Bustus Maximus would be a better name.

lol. :) There are choices for sure. I have always loved the name "Venus" though. So beautiful. And a lovely planet. :)

I sure would agree with that, many times in the joint editor you wish you could get in-between settings.

According to e-Frontier, the Poser male adult (Don in Poser 5) is supposed to be six feet tall. You can use him as a rough guide to scale. When you import 3D models, there is a box for choosing percent of standard figure size- the standard figure is supposedly the Poser male adult.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. All I knew were the figure heights (based on the Poser Unit and also the Geep scale). Just curious, do you guys have any idea at what measurements the male figures come in at and if they are comparable male models, movie stars, and/or athletes? Thanks. bB

For the math challenged among you take the height you want Vicki to be and divide it by Vickis height then multiply by 100. For Example; If Vicki is 5-10 (70) And you want her to be 5-2 (62) Then its (62/70) x 100 = 88.6% Also scale the head up a little if you make Vicki smaller it helps the elusion.
