I am not sure if this is what you are looking for, but we have 2 different kinds of trains and a train depot. Go check it out if you would like. SharenThere's a whole world of 3D train modelling out there, associated with the various train simulator programs, but I don't know if any of the data formats they use can be extracted to mainstream 3D. Most of the stuff I've seen in the Poser world has been obviously American in style. I think a lot of the modelling is done using standard tools, so you may be able to get models in a non-trainsim format if you ask. But I've a half-memory that MS Train Simulator required the use of a specific modelling program. Gmax? Train-sim models tend to be on the low-polygon end of things.

The models by Gaetan that martial refers to above in post #3 can be found at the link I'm attaching. There are tracks, a depot, station, steam engine, railway bridge, water tower - all sorts of free models you can incorporate into your scene. They are all mostly in .3ds format and look to be quite good.Hope this helps.
p.s: if you have Bryce, Harrison2 has some phenomenol steam engines for sale at 3DCommune. He also has one posted as a freebie in the 3DCommune's Bryce free stuff. His models are quite excellent and highly recommended. The free steam engine can be found here:

Having recently bought the excellent 3d railway tracks from the store (by 3dmodelz), I have started playing around with a kind of "virtual model railway", which I`d been meaning to look at for some time. Rendering the project in Vue (nice textures/trees!)
Does anyone know of any available locomotives or rolling stock, buildings, etc suitable to use, either free or to purchase, ideally UK outline?
Cheers!!
