Subject: Daz Treasure Hunt
It's over for me because I can't figure out the answer to clue #1. I clicked on every single link on that page and nothing led to another T-Map. I have no clue what goes on in the blanks of that clue, and without knowing that, I can't carry on. Also I don't know if you immediately see another map, or if you have to click a bunch more links and look through pages and pages of posts, galleries, store in order to find the next map. The instructions seem ambiguous to me.

I'm pretty sure that seeing as it's a contest, and that there are winners, that Daz didn't mean for this to be a community effort. It took some users quite a while to find those answers, and I'm sure more than a few people will be upset if they just come over here and see that you're posting them for everyone.
ummm its a month long hunt. only 25 the 1st 25 people get anything. everybody else EVEN IF they get the right links don't get any prizes. It's Daz's way of having lots of people looking thru their store and maybe seeing an item and maybe making an impulse purchase. 25 lucky "golden ticket winners" and Daz winning big with lots of people running through their store. Quite a interesting marketing strategy. even if the answers are given people have to go copy the links down for the big end finally.
OH yes, I never wanted anyone to post the answers!!! I was just notifying people that there was a contest. I'm still waiting on answers to my questions over at DAZ about things that I don't find clear.

I've heard several people say there is a "surprise" waiting for you after you find the third hint. "even if the answers are given people have to go copy the links down for the big end finally." Which will now take five seconds compared to the hour or so that others spent finding them on their own. Just because it's a month long contest doesn't mean you get to give out all the clues except the last ones.

The above clues may not be accurate, and the fact that they were posted in public may be the reason the clues were changed Also, sharing of clues is against the rules. Any further clue sharing will be deleted. ;)

I never attacked you or anyone else. Just said what you were doing was wrong, as it does in fact appear to be.
Unfortunately, with the internet providing an instant means to share information with everybody, it's hard to hold contests like these. When it gets down to the last clues for winning the big prizes, sharing is likely to go out the door because only the first 25 posters will receive the prize. To that extent, I'm not sure moderation is needed in a Renderosity forum because it's a DAZ contest. There may well be freebies along the way that I wouldn't mind receiving without having to hunt and peck throughout the entire DAZ site--something that I otherwise don't have time to do.
Reward for finding clue #4 is a voucher. Me wants :(

This thing is so messed up right now it's not funny. First you find out that you have wasted hours looking in the right place but didn't see the treasure b/c you have to clear your cache first then on the final clue you follow the clue to the right place and find out that the "right" place actually exist twice on the website and that the actually right place is not the one that the clues lead you too. What a pain in the rear end.
MorriganShadow that is completely out of line! If I share a clue and want to be disqualified in Daz's contest that is my right. I am not effecting anyone other than my self. Anything Daz related you throw your guantlet around and it's getting really out of hand. This is Renderosity, NOT Daz. The Contest Rules do not apply HERE. Please moderate based on THIS site and THIS forum's guidlines, not what another company wishes. Thank you.
BTW the sharing of clues and the disqualifing happened AFTER the rules had been given. Daz changed the rules of the conest AFTER I had posted. Hats off to Daz, I do think it's a great marketting contest an idea that had not been done before. If I offended people with posting clues I apologize, my intent was to help people in the community because so many were having trouble with the locations. I will refrain from posting about this contest I didn't know so many were going to take offense.

"I am not effecting anyone other than my self." Um, not after that "clue" post you made above. "Anything Daz related you throw your guantlet around and it's getting really out of hand." And you always appear to be leading the bashers in any DAZ-related thread...I seem to recall fighting it out with you in the Poser/D|S comparison discussion just last week. I think Morrigan is going above and beyond to help keep DAZ's contest fair by monitoring it's discussion here, and is not out of line at all. Just my opinion as always though, no hard feelings. :) Take care. SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.
FYI, I rarely find something to bitch about Daz. Contests are different though. High speed connections or else popularity votes as in the other one Daz is running. But that is the normal way all contests are done on all sites these days.
Posting an opinion on something doesn't mean that they hate that company. Also, nobody asked for answers. Jumping into a thread to call people bashers is just being a basher themselves.
It's a shame you can't post an opinion without getting flamed for it all the time now.

Not bashing, honest really. My comment I stand by. several threads related to Daz questions or opinions wanted where the thread has worked itself out and they get locked, or threat of a deleted post (as the above statement) seem heavy handed. I do not see the other Poser forum mod's doing this, I stated my opinion. I seem to be labeled a Daz hater, okay. So what's wrong with stating opinions and expressing ones view. I have complemented Daz on this contest in this thread, and I was serious in that complement. I have also expressed an apology to those that were offended by my posts.

Machine Claw, I'm sorry that I've in some way offended you by asking everyone participating to play fair. As for posts being deleted or locked, we do have our reasons, and, as I've stated many times before, we do not just lock posts because we had an itch to lock a post. Much discussion goes on by the staff before a post is locked, UNLESS there is an obvious TOS violation; i.e., personal attacks, trolling, warez requests or offerings, etc. I would suggest that, if you have a problem with how this forum is run, you should contact admin@renderosity.com and advise them of any problems. I do, however, apologize for not coming back sooner to answer to this, but I was enjoying the nice weather with my son. As for why I'm usually the one speaking up in DAZ threads...well, basically, I'm usually the first one to the boards when they're posted....Murphy's Law, or something, I don't know. I finally muddled my way to clue #3, but because you need knowledge of a certain "something", I can't advance because to me that certain "something" was so stupid and boring that it kept putting me to sleep, so I realized that it just wasn't my cup of tea and didn't bother jumping on the bandwagon with it.
So because I don't know the subject, the clue is totally and completely meaningless to me, and I refuse to comb through several hundred (thousand?) pages trying to find the last map by accident.
IMHO, they should have stuck with clues that were DAZ or Poser related, and not gone off the beaten path in areas where some people may not have any knowledge.

I've already given up. I stopped watching that thread over there. The clue is in regards to a hollywood movie that I haven't seen, so I can't figure out the answer to the clue. They should have limited the clues to Poser related stuff, even clues leading to other Poser sites or something, but to go and reference a hollywood movie?!!! Just because the person who wrote the clues up saw it, doesn't mean that everyone else did too.

If you know the name of movie, which you obviously do, you can find the final clue. It has to do with DAZ and even using their internal search engine will bring you to one instance of the thing.
It really has very little to do with it and I found it without having seen the movie.
I guarentee you have enough information to find it just based on what you have said both here and the thread at DAZ.

Those who haven't seen the movie have just as much chance to get it as those who have seen the movie, because it has nothing to do with the movie. If you give up because you haven't seen the movie, that's your own prerogative, but it's a silly reason to give up seeing as it doesn't make a differnece. Everything you need to know is in the clue.
Most everyone in that thread at Daz who happened upon the next map, some by accident, state that once they found the map, the clue made sense. That's butt backwards to how it should work. The clue makes zero sense to me. I still fail to see why the hollywood movie references for that clue.

Acadia, trust me the clue has nothing to do with any hollywood movie and you don't need to have seen any hollywood movie to actually get the answer. Having said that I admit that finding the correct link was in my opinion very very difficult. I found the first link without any problem and spent hours trying to find required link
yeah...but once you found it, it made sense didn't it? Nobody said this was going to be easy... I heard people complaining 'bout clue #2, and yet I found that one in five minutes. I spent 3-4 hours on #3, yet I bet some other people snuffed it in a few minutes...It's a matter of getting your brain around it... But, hey, if it frustrates you, give it up and do something else. It's supposed to be fun, isn't it...
It's SUPPOSED to. It's no fun actually. My brain hurts, and I'm doing it for 2$ voucher only, since I'll be gone this week off to my holidays so I won't be able to send full set of links anyway.

vilian...whether it is fun or not will vary from person to person...it is SUPPOSED be be, and to me, IT IS! I had an awesome time figuring the clues out...I was very excited and "into" the quest...but then, I have always loved solving riddles...it gives me a great feeling...THANK YOU DAZ, more than I can say!!!!! this only reinforces to me what I already know...that DAZ ROCKS! :D

Wow another one of these unfair clues hunts? I thought they quitted those after the many time zone remarks they had the last time? The last time they had such a thing I (and many many others) were sleeping when the clues were put out..... Some people never learn I guess. Good luck to those who can participate, but I'm not going to loose any sleep for any DAZ voucher.

It's not an unfair clue hunt, no one is forced to participate. And regarding time zones - since DAZ is located in the USA I think it's natural that they put out the clues at a time they are in the office and that is usually when it's evening or night time in Europe. And the clues are not that hard to understand, even if your native language is not english (like mine).
