Subject: Newbie - Question of Morphin Clothes

Hi, Just bought Poser 6 and have been downloading and playing around. I have been playing around with the V3 Morphing Cocktail dress. If she is standing straight, fine, but if I try to put her in a different pose, part of her stick out. I know this is normal, but I have no idea how to fix it. Is there a tutorial on how to use morphing clothes? Sorry for being such a newbie.

Lisa

Did you conform the clothing?

If the clothing is conformed and there is still poke-through, there are several ways of fixing it.

  1. Turn body parts invisible (in the hierarchy editor).

  2. Try adjusting the morphs that are built in the clothing or body. For example, if V3's boobs are sticking out, dial them a little smaller, or the dress a little bigger. Even scaling the clothing slightly may fix the problem.

  3. Fix it in postwork.

  4. Use magnets.

If it is a dynamic cloth, you have to go to the cloth room and clothify and read a tut about i.e. http://www.morphography.uk.vu/clothroom.html or http://www.renderosity.com/tut.ez?Form.ViewPages=868 or http://www.nerd3d.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=4 There are some tuts on other sites, try them

The Morphing Cocktail dress is not dynamic. It's conforming clothing.

So why not change it to dynamic?

You could, but I really wouldn't recommend it for a newbie who doesn't even know how to use conforming clothing.

If you've never used dynamic clothing before, it's best to start with something that was designed as dynamic to begin with. The cocktail dress is strapless, with a double skirt that's supposed to stand out from the body somewhat - not the easiest design to dynamicize.
