Every entry got one vote so it is a four way tie. :) Thank you everyone who participated and who voted. I am going to go forward for August with the new styles of themes. Midrael is out of town until tomorrow, but this weekend we'll get everything set up so that we can hopefully get August's Challenge started for Monday. Please be on the look out for it! :) Diana

A tie! A tie! We are all equal in the eyes of the Lord. Let no one stand above another! Huzzah! We all win! We are all special! Do we have to split the money? Who keeps the statuette? (my favorite is till the demon story. Let's let them keep the statuette, the "Naked-Vicky-In-A-Temple-With-A-Pen"). g' tongue-in-cheek-with-a-pen 'snix

Two writers have entered the Challenge Forum "Hot Dog" challenge for July. Be sure to take a look...the results are very entertaining. Congratulations to everyone ... a tie is not a bad thing. One reason I like having a rating score (3 pts, 2 pts, 1 pt) instead of a single vote is that it allows for people to have more than one favorite. It's often hard for me to choose just one when there are several deserving a vote.

I agree with that. I've often been hard pressed to decide with only one vote. A rating score with totals being the basis of winning...whatever. Diana, is it possible to modify the voting system a bit? Congratulations to the winners, at the risk of it sounding trite, to more acid pens. What the heck! It was fun reading everything you all wrote. (Offering hand around whether taken or not) :]

We can't modify the internal voting system that the contest area uses as it's all part of the code of the website. If we wanted to do a ratings system we'd have to set voting up externally. I don't want to do it through the forums cause I'd like to it remain annonymous, perhaps we could set it up so that everyone IM's myself for Midrael the ratings. Something to think about for sure, does anyone have any ideas for that? Diana

My feeling is that people tend to do whatever takes the least amount of time and effort on their part. Because of that, I'm doubtful about how successful IM's would be, but it might be worth a try. I didn't care one way or the other about the anonymous part so I can't speak to that.

Hmm. I think that's right; people would prefer anything that means less work, but then on the other hand, being and remaining on the site itself means work! :) The least you have to do is login. :) I don't think it's possible to come up with a solution that satisfies everyone, so maybe if the suggestion has sufficient takers, we could try it out, or something workable that someone can suggest, failing which we could continue with the existing system. I'm OK either way. It's not a big deal for me. :)
