Subject: light specks appear in render

LonRanger ( ) posted Tue, 09 August 2005 at 9:05 PM · edited Thu, 10 October 2024 at 2:15 PM

I am seeing lots of little light-colored specks appearing randomly on the face of an M3 with dark skin, when I render him (using P6). (I am rendering at one, two and three notches above "draft") I do not see these specks anywhere else (like in a black shirt). The other models in my scene are light-skinned, so if the specks are appearing there, I can't see them. Any suggestions?

Is it possibly part of the texture? Can you post an example of what you mean?

Tools :  3dsmax 2015, Daz Studio 4.6, PoserPro 2012, Blender v2.74

System: Pentium QuadCore i7, under Win 8, GeForce GTX 780 / 2GB GPU.

PROBLEM SOLVED. I switched over to the P4 renderer (keeping the shader trees) and it looks great and renders three times as fast. (I am using the toon shader for all my textures, so I don't lose anything by using the P4 renderer)
