Hello, I am hoping that someone has experienced the following error, when invoking the 3D paint functions in RDS 5.5: Memory suballocation error (-2) I have applied the p3dfix patch, to no avail. Also, once I have tried to work with the 3D paint functions, the RDS interface does not respond unless I try to close the program. :( Any help/direction would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Todd PS... system specs (that may have impact on the problem, as far as I can guess) are as follows: Win 98 SE 256 MB RAM P2-300 CL TNT2 graphics card

Hi again, It is not the plug-in that I am having problems with, it is actually the RDS interface's 3D paint tools. They are being very naughty... Again, any help would be super-appreciated. I may offer my first-born! Todd

Try searching the NET for peoples personal web sites that are dedicated to RDS stuff. If you're lucky there's still some around. Somone used to have the archives of the old 'Lightlink' users forum for RDS. If that's still available, you'll find a LOT of info on them. I remember stuff being posted about ways to keep the 3D paint tools from crashing RDS so much. Otherwise... The 3D paint tools were ALWAYS very unstable. I recommend avoiding them, completely. Painter 3D never REALLY "integrated well within" RDS, either. Getting RDS (or otherwise) models converted into implicit/parametric mapping before painting in P3D is a pain-in the @$$, too. Every piece has to be converted to meshform, then have it's UV coord. converted inside of the Meshform Modeler. THEN... you'll be best off exporting the pieces out of RDS, and import them into P3D without launching it from within RDS. If you paint with muitiple maps, in P3D, each map will have to be manually loaded into their proper channels in the RDS 'shader editor'.

I haven't tried playing with the 3Dpaint tools too much, as I've been busy with other learning curves ;) However, I came across a strange thing about RDS -- the Four Elements pack -- It keeps asking for some serial number. I'm assuming this is a third party software plugin. Is this something we need to go to the orignating company and purchase the key?
