Subject: Is there any way....

To get the "Number of Thumbnails" in the gallery to hold from session to seesion? I generally set it to 24, then if I have to log out, or reboot, when I come back in it resets to 12 again. Just curious...

Yeah, I'll look into it.

Ok, should be preserving them now.

Cool... thanks. Wasn't a major thing, just thought I would ask. ;]

Sometimes that's all it takes. :)

Thanks. Just killed all of my sessions and tested it. Havent done a reboot yet, but i'm sure Icq will lock me up and force one before the night is through. ;] Looks good.

Rebooting isn't really necessary to test it. If you logged out and had to relog into the site, that should be enough. So ICQ eats you're machine too eh? So why do we keep using it then? ;)

Ironbear ( ) posted Sun, 25 February 2001 at 9:16 PM

Because it's absolutely indispensible for the things we use it for? And if there was another program that did all of that stuff just as well, that didn't lockup or crash our computers - we'd drop icq in a hot NY minute. ;] It's not as bad with 2000b and 98 as it was with 2000a and 95, but I find it fries on me at least once a night on a good night. On a bad night it's unuseable.

{So ICQ eats you're machine too eh? So why do we keep using it then? ;) } I don't anymore. It's been a piece of garbage ever since AOL QUIETLY bought them out about three years ago. The big irony THERE is that I had more conflicts between ICQ and the AOL software than between almost any two other programs (only Real Player gave me more trouble - both are now off of my system). AIM does 90% of the stuff that ICQ does, and half of THAT better, but there are still some functions that you just don't have ANYWHERE but ICQ.

AIM? What's that? perk

AOL Instant Messenger.

Ah. From one AOL owned product to another? Seems like one giant leap backward for mankind...

Yep ICQ is trouble alright. When mine was up and running on the taskbar I was getting 20 hacks a day some doing damage to my machine which I still haven't fixed...Now that I shut it down I get maybe one scan hack a week. I think ICQ is the peer to peer choice of the hacking community..lol Anyone out there running cable beware of ICQ!

Ironbear ( ) posted Tue, 27 February 2001 at 2:22 PM

You only get 20 hacks a day? Lucky fellow.. ;] My computer's more popular than your computer, nyah. ;]p
