After having one tour of the material room the other day, I'm trying to change colours on a dress today. Only I'm mixed up. Earlier today I succeeded. The Diffuse and Specular colours were the same as the dress. So I changed them and the dress changed colour. However, the dress I'm trying to change colour on now, has a different colour in the Diffuse and Specular areas plus a whole bunch of nodes that the other dress didn't have. I want to change the colour of this dress to a bright blue, or yellow. Can someone tell me from this screenshot, what changes I have to make in order to change the colour of the dress? I don't know how to do clothing textures so that's not an option for me.

Here's a simple way: 1) delete the "Color Texture" node 2) control-click the "diffuse color" on the main node. You'll get the Windows color picker screen. Pick you blue/yellow there.

Acadia, Could you open the image preview in the Mat room? For each of the nodes, that is. I think you can solve the issue but disconnecting the Color_Texture node from the Diffuse Color channel, plugging it into a a couple of Color Math nodes, then plugging that back into the Diffuse channel, but I want to make sure the other nodes won't interfere with it.

Okay, I really should be getting ready for work, but here is what you can try right now. It should work. It may take a little bit of tweaking here and there, but this should give you a pretty good start. Notice the subtraction node. It is very important to making this work! You will obviously use red for yours. I suggest when opening the color picker, you click directly on the color texture where the red of the shirt shows, so that it chooses the correct shade to remove. Replace the blue with whatever shade you are looking to achieve.

Here is something I was playing with, continuing on the same path as my previous post. Pretty interesting effects from the nodes.

The blue User_Defined node on the bottom left is not connected to anything, but I had been playing with it, so I left it to show the effect.
