I'm trying to find manuals and bible type books for 3DMax Version 1.0 and Painter 5. As I never throw old books away, I'm hoping there's someone else out there who does the same. If anyone has such books and is looking to sell them, I would be very interested. I've already checked Ebay and Amazon. Thanks for any help you can give.

Try looking in your local phone book for a used book seller. I've gotten some good deals on older software stuff at places like that. Also have a look in Borders if you have one nearby. I've found the they often have books for older versions on the shelves. bonni

Also look at your Public Library. They have a lot of older versions on their shelves. SWAMP

Try this link. Powell's Books is located in Portland, OR and has a huge selection of new and used books. I did a search for "3d studio max'" and got 89 hits so I'd think there would be something there that will help you.
