Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 12 6:08 pm)
Yup, poor wording, trying to say too much too fast. Like Little Dragon said, the "option" is as you save it. At least, when I was in this position last night, when I got to the "Save as" portion there was no way for me to change .jpg quality 40 to anything else. And then, I found the work around. It seems strange that nothing is mentioned in the manual. Unless, you're telling me that when you do "make movie, image files, save as," you can change your image format. If that's the case then I have a funky Poser.

deci6el I believe what we're saying is that you seem to have a funky Poser install - I regularly choose the image filetype (for example I switch between PNG JPG and BMP at will for different purposes) and change the quality setting at the "Save As" stage. Just as with Poser 5 and 4 :)
Cheers,
Cliff

animations, make movie, save as images, image options
That is the kind of flow I was used to in Pro Pack and found myself very confused when I tried to save my first animation as a series of pictures. The option button is disabled when you choose Format: Image Files. And when I rendered it would ONLY let me save the images as jpgs at 40% quality!!!
Searched for relevent threads here and in the manual, nada.
The answer is:
Go to File: Export Image...
and then set the format you want. You actually have to export the image as "Cancel" will revert to the previous setting. Now when you go to: Animation: Make movie:
and set the render in motion it will bring up the file dialogue and your format will be set correctly.
As much as I love P6, that one seems a little weird to have to jump through those hoops when there's a perfectly good "options" button sitting there.
I hope this saves someone new to P6 some hair-pulling time.
