Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 30 6:52 am)
I work on a fire for Infinite right now but that is far from being ready. Enclosed i have an early preview.
The idea is to make that completely flexible - in terms of form and maybe look too. We will see how this will go. Maybe it will never be done, i really don't know.

One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
hi Wabe! Yeah this COULD be something... Dowloaded it - but i dunno how to get this fire stuff INTO vue, Its not a mat. ? vob?!? How do i make my uwn collections of materials - when i press "new collection" nothing happens, and when i "browse file" the sacado stuff is greyed out ! Obviously i am in the wrong directory..... Hopelessly newbieish! T
Sacadas stuff are VOBs. You can modify the materials and save them yourself or modify the vobs - the spheres more or less (try it with some metablobs maybe) - and save the results as vob again. As an example, look at the materials Sacada has used/done. Gives you a good expample how fire materials are done. BTW, have you done a search in the freestuff zone here for fire? Loooong time ago there were some fire materials for Vue 4 available. Result of a monthly contest when i remember it right. Maybe gone forever, who knows.

If you have Poser as well, look for fire effects by JPeter.

Just make them luminous. They work great in Vue.
For a Vue only solution, you also have :

These are alpha planes, not procedural textures, but they still work great :)

If you have PhotoShop, you can do your own flames and alpha and then bring them into Vue on an alpha plane. Here's a list of PhotoShop tutorials on creating fire.Thanx for all feedback!
I am actually doing a LOT of work in photoshop.... but its really not that kind of "feeling" i am after, neither do i have Poser - have you really seen these Bryce flames i mentioned earlyer on? WERY 3D - spaced out - useable - wonderful/beautyful fire is words that spring to my mind!
If any of you have Bryce; i can post some Bryce fire mat. to you : vision is better than words!

Ive been searching, and i mean SEARCHING the web for good fire-materials for Vue5 a long time now, found nothing.
Just bought Vue5, really happy with my purchase!
I am looking for something like: Clays volumetric fire - Mennos fire & Steve Lareau`s plasma archs ( all Bryce mat. ) super stuff!
Where on earth do i find such stuff?
Unfortunatly, i am just to stupid to create them...
Can someone please help me out?
