At 3dcommunes poser forum check it out! no Prizes just for fun. Wasn't sure where to post this so feel fre to move it if need be. Thanks The Challenge? http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/forum.mv?Poser+only+3 I wanted to make the theme of October's Challenge "Idiomatic Phrases." I worried that it might be unfair to those for whom English is a second language. After giving it some thought I decided it probably would not be that big a problem, and that those who have been perplexed by such phrases could have a special feel for it, and might even have a favorite example. An idiomaic phrase is one that is not intended to be taken literally, and usually makes no sense if you try. To a population, or a segment of a population, it means something specific. We use these phrases daily, without ever giving a thought to their literal meanings, or how they might sound to an outsider. Let's have some fun, and do just that! Using at least one Poser figure, depict the literal meaning, or logical consequences, of an idiomatic phrase. I want you to nail that puppy! That's an example, and one I would not want to see used ;) Be careful. I do not want to see proverbs, puns, clich, or metaphors (bi-lingual mixed metaphors will be another challenge - psyche!). Google "idiomatic phrase" to see what I am talking about. There is a wealth of examples. Foreign and regional idioms are acceptable. Please give the phrase in the title or the description, and if it's not well known, the idiomatic meaning. If you don't have fun with this, I'll eat my hat!
