From what was explained to me the other day.... you apply the .jpg texture in the material room to whatever texture you want to apply it to. Then add your different nodes if you want any. Then save the settings using the + button. I don't think that converts anything, and I don't know if you always have to apply the .jpg texture and then the material stuff afterward or if after saving you just have to apply the texture from the material folder. I never got that far. I didn't quite understand it all to be honest with you.

Well thanks but I want to assume that there are some great gurus out there who do understand how to create a material file from a texture. How were the materials files that we have installed in our basic program created. On the subject of applying a texture such as a picture of a baseball to the side of a box. It was very simple in Poser 4 but the manual does not give step by step tutorials to cover the basics. I will search around the tutorials on the web in hopes I can find some answers.....none of the "old timers" seem to know how to answer thse very simple questions....thanks again....

You can read a thread I started a few days ago. Maybe you can get some hints from there."It is good to see ourselves as

are, especially the evil side of us.

How do I convert a .jpg file to a material file? Thanks
