Poser uses something called "materials" to apply colors and textures to objects. If the object you import doesn't have any applied to it. Then you need to create some for it. You can use the grouping tool to create a new group name. Then use your mouse to select what polygons you want to be included in that new group. Then click the "assign material" button. And you will be able to change the color of that part of the object. Be aware that in order to apply texture maps to an object. The object needs to has UV coordinates applied to it so they will stick to it. Most of us use the free UVmapper program to do that. ScottAThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience. I have a question in relation to importing .obj props into Poser and not being able to break the prop down into its parts for texturing etc. I have searched the archive for answers and have found the solution relevant to Poser 4 (ungrouping tool and then spawn). I need to know if this feature is available in earlier versions of Poser. I have Poser 3 obtained from a magazine cover disc and I can't seem to find any ungrouping tool at the interface or referenced in the help files.
