On the left an "iron" mat, the right the rusty mat... if there was a way to sort of overlap the two that would be cool... any ideas??

If you have a look in tutorials I posted something like this a while ago. You'll need p5 or 6 cos you need the materials room. The basic process is 1. load up your model and texture. 2. Add a marble (or cloud node) to the material and attach it to the diffuse socket. 3. Connect the image map to the color channels on the mable/cloud node. 4. change one of the colours in the marble/cloud node to white and the other to a light grey. When you render the texture comes out kinda dusty. For a rusty tecxture Id suggest using a cloud node, with white and a brownish red colour. You'll have to experiment to get exactly what you want. You can experiment with other shader node of course :) anything you can plug your image into more than one texture. John

look in rndas freestuff. While it's not cloth, these textures might work.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

Thank Fugazi & Sparky!! I use the rdna mats for everything!! I just wasn't able to get the look I'm after with them!! I'm confident now after reading Fugazi's tut that I can get the look I want with the cloud/marble node thing! Thanks again guys!!! Gerard
