Viggen is a multi-role fighter, through upgrades still modern and with some almost unique features, in service with the Swedish air force in several versions, since 1971.

The package includes:

  • model in .obj format (for users of Bryce, Vue and other programs)
  • model in .3ds format (for users of 3D Studio and other programs)
  • Poser specific files with file paths and external geometry (can be extracted directly into the Poser folder)
  • .jpg texture (modern version) & bump maps (2048*2038)
  • .jpg texture (classic camouflage version)
  • texture template (for making your own textures)

The Poser model is rigged. The canopy, rudder, pitch and left and right wing flaps have their own controls. Limits are applied. The undercarriage and missiles can be hidden.

NOW RELEASED AND AVAILABLE FROM:
http://www.colacola.se/expo_viggen_full.htm

Will also be available from the marketplace and from www.vanishingpoint.biz

bazze. you got me!!! I thought the green plane in post#2 was the real thing until I scrolled down. That's some amazing texture work and IBL lighting there.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

This is really nice. Always liked the Viggen's design. This is the interceptor version isn't it? Any plans for a recce version?

bazze ( ) posted Sun, 06 November 2005 at 2:27 AM

.no plans for the recce nor training version. But maybe somebody would like to do an additional texture for it? hint

bazze ( ) posted Sun, 06 November 2005 at 1:03 PM

sorry don't know yet what the next model will be. I've received some requests for the Draken (swedish for "dragon") so maybe...

Wow excellent job! The Saab Viggen is my all time favourite jet (together with the F4-Phantom). Even though I most likely will not get it, have no idea what to with it and if I needed it I've got it somewhere on a CD, modeled it once for a game.... must have been about 4-5yrs ago.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....
