Hello, We've posted some new tree and foliage textures for downloading. These are fully masked textures that you can use in your scenes without lots of rendering overhead. We've also posted a new PDF tutorial that shows you how to make them. It's mostly designed for Jungle 3D, but we've included both the nozzle and brushes necessary to complete the tutorial. So if you own Painter, be sure to download these as well. Follow the "Jungle 3D Freebies" and "Trees & Foliage" links below the banner. Have fun. Dennis@DigArts

A question for DigArts if you come back here. I am really interested in Jungle 3d. I went to your page and it has 2 sections for purchase (Painter, and Paint Shop Pro) As I do not have Painter I am considering the Jungle 3d& Painter 5.5 bundle found in the Paint Shop section. I would like to be able to apply bark textures as stated here: "In fact, the Painter version actually lets you apply textured tree barks to your own tree trunks and limbs. These bark brushes let you paint textures that actually follow the form and direction of the limbs and branches. If you own Painter 3D or Detailer, you can actually paint these textures on on trunk and limb models." So should I buy from the Painter or Paint Shop section. I currently have Paint Shop only. Thanks

Ug. I just wrote you a long reply and it disappeared when I tried to preview the post. Grrrrr. If the bark textures are important to you, get the Painter version. There's only a limited supply, so I'd jump on Painter 5.5 because when they're gone, they're gone. As it is right now, Painter 6 tends to blur nozzle applications so P5.5 has some real advantages. Remember also, you can always make a duplicate of your tree trunk or limb, convert it to grayscale in PSP and use it to drive a second bump channel. That applies to other types of Jungle textures as well. Last but not least, the step-by-step, illustrated tutorials are designed for Painter 5.5 with new users in mind. Whatever UI problems you may encounter should be addressed in the Painting Trees, Painting Terrain Textures and Painting Foliage Structure tutorials since they use screen captures of the desktop display. Well, it's not quite as thorough, but I think that covers it... again. Hope this helps.
