Subject: Another Poser 6 SR2 glitch- Delete key doesn't delete

I found yet another glitch in SR2: while working in the Library, hitting the "Delete" key moves up one folder instead of removing the currently-selected element from the scene. (The same thing happens when you hit the "Backspace" key... which is similar to the behavior in Windows Explorer. But in Explorer, "Delete" deletes a file.) Here's what I did: 1) File > Import an obj file. 2) File > Convert Hier file to turn it into a figure. I get a new progress bar. 3) Poser asks for a name (as usual). I type a name... and hit the Enter key... and it works the same as clicking the OK button. (new fix) 4) Poser adds the object as a new figure to the "New Figures" folder (as usual). 5) I hit the "Delete" key to delete the object from the scene so I can work with the new figure file instead. Rather than deleting the object, Poser jumps from the "New Figures" folder to the next folder up, in this case the listing of the Runtime Folders. 6) I clicked on the Document Window, hit "Delete" and the object was deleted from the scene. So, yet again, we have to be careful of the "focus" or the keyboard shortcuts may not react the way we expect. Okay, confess: who asked e-frontier to assign the "Delete" key to mean "move up one folder" when you're on the Library palette? Sometimes I really wish the SR patches would stick to just fixing bugs and NOT and new "features". --John

hi john, Yep, I can confirm that. Any use of the delete key when the library is in focus moves it up to the next level. It's getting very tiresome trying to remember which part of the UI is in focus and what goes wrong when it is/isn't. That's probably why I barely use P6 any more. mac
