Subject: Shadowcam Behavior in P6

baggettbear ( ) posted Fri, 18 November 2005 at 9:50 PM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 8:12 PM

In P5, selecting a shadowcam from the camera view list brought up its corresponding parameters as well. In P6, after selecting the shadowcam from the cameras list, I need to select it again from the objects list to make its properties active. That's okay, but I'm not always convinced the properties for the view I am looking at are correct. Are the shadowcam names in P6 constant?

I should point out that most of the lights in my lighting schemes have names which do not match the shadowcam names. Further, the views are often so distorted, I cannot guess which shadowcam is active based on the lighting control diagram. Is there any way to determine which shadowcam view represents which light? Are they in the same order, even though their names do not match? Does the active shadowcam view always match the properties of the same name when these are selected separately?

Thanks for any assistance.

Mike

The only consistent way to determine which shadowcam goes to which light is to open the hierarchy window, and choose to only show lights and cameras. Be aware that this will only display lights and cameras that aren't parented to props or figures.
