Create your new default page setup on screen in Bryce.
Change your Camera view, sun settings, page size and render preferences to what ever you need. Go to SAVE AS and select DEFAULT.BR5 in your Bryce directory.
Program files/Bryce 5.5/DEFAULT.BR5
It will ask you if you want to overwrite the orignal.
Click OK and close Bryce.
When you start up Bryce again you new setting shouldbe in operation.

And in my final hours - I would cling rather to the tattooed hand of kindness - than the unblemished hand of hate...
Alternatively, set up your scene (as TheBryster suggested above), then save under another name altogether... something imaginative like "DefaultPortrait"..:-)) Although it costs you a couple of extra mouse-click (to load the new scene after Bryce has started), that way you can set up as many start-scenes as you want, and it only costs a few seconds.. And you'll never have to worry about "how to change the default" again:-)) Cheers, Diolma
Thanks to all for the help. My problem appeared to be that the revised default.br5 was not overwriting the original. I noted that the date on what I thought to be the revised file was not changing from the date of several years back. I overcame this by deleting the old version and then saving the new version rather than trying to overwrite it. Looks like it now works like it should Bob

For several years I have always used an aspect ratio of 3:2 (landscape) in all my Bryce 5.01 drawings. Today I have attempted to change this to a 4:5 (portrait). I remember that I should set a default.br5 file to the new dimensions (960x1200) but try as I may I cannot get this new default file to stick and each time I start Bryce the old landscape screen appears. Can anyone give me details on the steps required to make this change? Bob
