Well here is a little bit on an approach to postwork that is a bit different. I am actually trying to give it a bit less realism. My goal is to try to get close to the look of a lot of 70's album cover art taht used to be done with ink acrylic and airbrush. So here is a veiw of the finished work. Here is a link to another example of using the same approach.

Well now we will get a look at what the render looked like before postwork.

Now what I do is duplicate the original image and apply a photograin and a diffuse glow to it. This is what it looks like after that. I then set the transparency to around 50 percent you should play with it to see how it looks to you. I do keep the grain level low when I apply the filters.

Now I duplicate the original again and put the layer on top. I then apply a find edges filter and then I set the satruation to zero. After I do that. I select the white area and select similar and delete. I do some adjustments with sharpen and finaly add a little blur less than 1.5 to finsihs it. this is wha tthe layer looks liek without the white area deleted. I then set the transparency to less then 50. and I get the final result up on top. Thsi is doen in an old version of Photoshop if you know yoru filters you can get simiar results in other programs.

I asked for a tutorial on this because I loved the results. I think the effect is fabulous and extremely useful for certain applications. Dann-O, thanks for coming through with an easy to understand explanation. This is great! Nancy
