Subject: Poser Question About texture files...?

Why are the jpeg tex files in their original form in reverse? I never paid much attention until I noticed the lettering on them was backwards. Is this a Poser peculiarity, or what? Just curious.

This was done so that they would appear correct in a mirror. ... (tongue now removed from cheek) ;=]

what jpg texture files? It all depends on how the obj is mapped. if it's mapped "backwards" then you'll have to mirror the writing on it - but it's not all textures that has this thing...

If the model is simple, such as a plane or box, which it may be if you are applying text to it, you might try importing it as an obj and checking the 'flip normals' option. Or you could remap it in UVMapper.

In an item I just installed, the readme said, "In the mesh files the texture map coordinates are upside down, to allow for Poser reversing them." In this case, it was referring to "reversed" in relation to Bryce. This is the first time I've seen anything relating to texture reversal in Poser. I don't know if it's related to what you're seeing or not.
