Claymor, lucky for us you managed to salvage this piece, love the scene, the modeling and textures overall. My personal take is that the objects closer to the viewer should, as in reality, be crystal to the eye. All the textures in the manor and background scene are just wonderful but I feel that the textures to the overhead tree leaves and whatever that object is to the viewers left side (fountain perhaps) needs to be of high-res. It distracts attention and therefore detracts from the scene. My impression is that it does not contribute to the supposed realism of the image. Just my perspective but an excellent image by and large, congratulations!

Excellent work on the model & texturing - textures are fantastic, and certainly make it look anything but a "simple model". It's very realistic, reminds me of my old school building! Looks like a good candidate for the marketplace to me - I'd definitely buy it. When I use a lot of trees in the distance or middle distance I tend to render them separately and put them in as 2D objects - they usually look just as good, and it saves space & helps to stop Bryce getting its knickers in a twist. Also I never save to the same file twice when working with trees, I do a "save as" every time, and just clean up occasionally when the trail of files gets too big!
"Ctrl S" saved my file just today. First time I'd thought of using it and I have no idea what made it pop into my head.

I had been working on this render off and on for about 3 days. Just letting it grow organically. I wanted to add just one more tree before doing a final render and... CRASH!!! I thought I had lost it all?!?! Fortunately I was able to use the keyboard shortcut to "Save As" before shutting the whole thing down and managed to get something useable!! Moral of the story, which we all should already know: Save early and save often. Take a look if you have a moment. And Phil? Feel free to comment on the scale of the mats. :)
