This is a massive site! I can't believe I didn't find it earlier... though I am wondering just what rights we have with these fonts - some are Shareware, but many just had a "download" button. Did either of you see a licence agreement on the page - I didn't.

No, I didn't see one, there is just a disclaimer which doesn't really say anything. Some of the fonts have their own license, which may or may not permit commercial use, for those that don't (the majority of those I grabbed) I guess it's use for personal renders only.

Just drag them into your ...Windows/fonts/ folder and they should be available in all applications. If you are on a Mac...I'm sorry but I can offer no help. Glad you all liked this resource. Tom

Macs also have a Fonts folder. It is under System. Under OS9, fonts have to be converted, but the largest sites have a font conversion tool which usually works (PhotoShop6 has font problems). I'm not sure if the fonts will need conversion under OSX, since I haven't yet installed new ones on that beastie. After dropping the converted font or "suitcase" on the Fonts folder, you'll get a message saying that it will not be available to any program currently running. PhotoShop hunts for available fonts when it starts up; other programs probably behave likewise. BTW, thanks, Tom, an older site, but there were a couple of fonts that I'd missed seeing before. The first couple googles I did for Tolkien fonts turned up this: http://babel.uoregon.edu/yamada/fonts/tolkien.html and This: http://www.thehutt.de/tolkien/fonts.html Google is a wonderful tool...just type in "Tolkien fonts" and see what you come up with. Glad that you all liked this resource. Tom

Thanks... I think I found the one she's been talking about... won't know 'til tomorrow, though. You seem to be very into fonts... in a lot of cases, that can be handy. If I can ever give you a hand with anything, let me know... I haven't got much going yet, but if it's in my capacity, I'll certainly try. Lou.

Glad to help. And thanks. I'm really not all that into fonts. But I have kicked around the idea of making a custom set. I just thought I'd pass this site along. The thing with fonts is that if you are going to use them on a wedsite, the viewer must have them installed on their machine in order to be seen properly. Best bet is to make them into a graphic in a image editing program. Tom

I wonder if YATT can do that? Lou.
