ok...sorry but this is tweeking me. I was just browsing the contest thing....checking out the work so far submitted..... was in 2d section.... why is poser work in it? why is there a 3d section if poser work is allowed in the 2d section? I figured 3d meant anything rendered in a 3d program then perhaps post worked.... but is post working a 3d image then considered 2d?? ~twitches~

Depends on viewpoint and amount of work spent in 3D and 2D. I consider an image that consists of a 5 minute Poser render plus 5 days of postworking a 2D image. Others might disagree.

It's not that bad, really - I only saw two obvious poser images out of 50 or so in the 2D section. they may dump them there in recognition that there's little chance of them being noticed in the 3d section.

The rules say "Any 2D software can be used." But they don't say, "No 3d software can be used." The Poser graphic I saw was less about Poser than about a technique for creating a framework for the graphic, and it could have been easily used for any graphic...photograph or tubes (are tubes of Poser people okay but just not direct renderings?--really, how far does one go with all this before all the enjoyment in trying to create something is completely spoiled?) It will be interesting to see what TPTB have to say about it.

I was not trying to take the joy out of it..Just 2d,3d etc etc etc if 3d is allowed in 2d then why even have the different categories? that was the point. why have it split if you can have 3d content in the 2d section? when I think of 2d digital work I think of those that paint their work. not use a poser piece as a take off point.(I.E. like Linda bergkvist or blackeri) I just think if there is going to be poser work in the 2d category why even have the separation of the two?

Hi DarkElegance, Just wanted you to know that we carefully review each submission to determine if it complies with the requirements and the rules. There have been a large number of entries that were redirected to another category based on the amount of work that was created using either 2D or 3D software. I think the contest managers have done an excellent job reviewing all the entries. But, since we are human it is possible that some may not be appropriately placed. If you notice something that you think should be reviewed, please feel free to send me an IM or email and let me know which images you believe should be reconsidered for placement in a different category. We'll be happy to have a look. Best wishes, LillianH Renderosity Marketing Manager
