Subject: Please Help: Poser Database Corruption

darthuv ( ) posted Wed, 14 December 2005 at 5:43 PM ยท edited Thu, 25 July 2024 at 4:55 PM

Recently, I've started having problems with my computer restarting all of a sudden while I'm working in Poser. I uninstaller and re-installed the program to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. By process of elimination I think the problem lies in my database of Poser content, but I don't know where to even begin looking there. I've got nearly 3Gb of content, does anyone know an easier way to find the problem? I have Poser Pro Pack and Poser 5, my database is in the Pro Pack directory.
And of course this had to happen when I have graphics projects people are waiting on.
Thanks in advance,
Aaron

Possibility of computer overheating. You have cleaned it recently, yes? Especially the cpu fan.

I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

"Possibility of computer overheating. You have cleaned it recently, yes? Especially the cpu fan." Very likely cause. Or a power supply on the way out. My computer started resetting during a complex render and shortly after that the power supply rolled over and died.

That's something I hadn't thought of, I can check the power supply. If I remember right it's less than a year old, but I do live in a very dry area (dust collects like there's no tomarrow).
