Just an image I am working on that seems to be missing something. Thought I would ask you guys and gals for your thoughts, ideas, crits, or comments.

Thanks in advance.

First thing it seems to be missing is/are shadows. The wizard guy looks flat and both characters look like they are floating above the ground because there are no shadows cast beneath them. The demon could be airborne but I would think the wizard is standing yeah?

Where's the little numbers showing hitpoints and whether or not the wizard leveled up?

The violet on teh groudn is a bit too much for me. Need to subdue soem of your colors adn make the demon stand out as being red instead of washing him in a sea of purple.

very game-y, i would perhaps play with the lighting bolts a bit, postwork them in with xenofex 2's 30 day trial lightning plugin for ps. and give the lighting a bit more drama. all the same, solid composition and very nice models :) drac

you might want to take some of the 'substance' out of the demon's weapon..make it look a bit more like energy..that's my 2p..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Fun picture...I would give the wizard the usual long hair..

RodsArt ( ) posted Thu, 29 December 2005 at 4:31 PM

Nice start....OK here goes ..Shadows ..Red background is too close in color to the demon, he gets lost. ...the purple ground IS distracting ...lightning bolts are a little stiff(Dracs idea!) ...Hair or none at all (maybe wizards crown). Like I said...nice start. I'm not brave enough to start one of these mostly because of the amount of post I would have to do to it to be satisfied. Keep us updated!! Rod

boulders/rocks perhaps plants, clouds/haze? I like the concept and the purple ground isn't at all displeasing; perhaps a bit too bright given the brightness of the sky. I think that he point of view seems to be from the perspective of someone just a bit shorter than the daemon and I'd tend to root for the daemon based on that. the daemon seems to be facing the camera rather than his adversary. Can't wait to see what you do with it!

I took a look too Wade, but I didn't know what to suggest because I'm not experienced in making that style of scene. I like the structure and composition, lol.
