Hey all!!! Ive spent a few days at "the Fockers" this week, and yesterday while taking the 8-hour drive back home i stopped a few times to take some shots. Some of them actually turned out quite great...while some didnt. And then theres those that i just cant place....so before i trash those, i thought i would ask for your opinions and suggestions on how to improve them. First one is kinda boring in my opinion....or? ![innocent.gif](http://market.renderosity.com/~carrara/emoticons/innocent.gif)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

The light is fantastic in #3 and #4 #4 is the one

Eggiwegs! I would like... to smash them!

Onslow ( ) posted Sun, 08 January 2006 at 5:03 AM

No 3 is the strongest image imho - so I'll talk about that one. I like the colours and light it has a very serene feel to it. Your northern skies and low sun give such magical shots. I like the compo with the bridge wires mirroring the shape of the snow in the foreground and the uprights doing the same for the trees. I find the tree on the right to be a distraction from this and if I were to want to improve the image I would crop it in from the right to where the bridge wires meet the trees.

We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'

Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to sea in a Sieve.

For cryin out loud Andreas...How do you do it. That bridge is stunning. They all are, but the bridge. That is going to make one helluva good print.I will be staring at that for a long time on my desktop,if you don't mind me snatching it.

LOL! Aaawww....thank you Doug!!! Go right ahead and use it for your desktop if ya like...but i personally prefer this shot of the bridge. This was the one i felt good enough uploading without asking for "permission", LOL.

Thanks you Richard...esers. I hear you my good man....although i prefer the wider crop...hmmm...i shall have a try at it though. THANKS!!! MAS RULES!!!!! #:O)

Yep, both 4 and 9 are fantastic! Concerning 1, the idea is great but contrasts are blown by the bright sun, in this case just act like me and throw your stomach on the ground, looking to ice-crystals with the sun shining on it against a blue sky may result in fabulous captures. And afterwards have a nice cup of coffee or tea or so... :) Hard to chose between 4 and 9, too different, as chosing between apple and pear - both tasty! The car and the sun are GREAT illustrations for a travel-story, do it depends in what context you wanna use your shots. Have a wonderful Sunday! :)

My fav. is the "first" bridge. Just the way it is with the tree and everything. So many different "lines" for your eyes to follow - and the colours are just marvellous... You are really blessed to live in such a beautiful landscape!

Brenda_Guiles ( ) posted Sun, 08 January 2006 at 8:28 AM

OK where to start? ;) Number one, while it is blown where the sun is, I can forgive that because I love the ice coated plant life do you have more of this one??? Number two is ok in my book, I am not sure how I feel about that one, I am not real wild about the car in this image, but it is a pretty scenic except for that. Numbers three and four are beautiful! I would not hesitate to show either one of these! Gorgeous! :) Number five was probably missing something and that is why you rendered a moon in there? The moon is too big imo, But very realistic looking, might be better say half that size. Hmmmmm... Number nine is excellent! Love this one, but don't delete numbers three or four. I would show these three, and maybe number one if I didn't have another shot that wasn't blown. No fixing it once it is blown, but like I said I could overlook that. Hope that helped! Brenda :) P.S. Exactly what is MAS? I must have missed something.

Zacko ( ) posted Sun, 08 January 2006 at 8:36 AM

MAS stands for "Mutual Admiration Society"...a very tight and secluded community within the community. LOL. Thanks Andrea and Brenda. I guess well see who "survives" long enough to make it to the galleries, LOL. I have a tendency of growing sick of my photos just seeing them in my folders. #:o)

Andreas, When I have a "questionable image" I put it on my desktop, if I get tired of seeing it within the week it gets removed and thrown in the rejects folder. If I still like it after a week or two, I might post it and put it in the printables folder! :) I have found that images grow on me that way. But hey that is just me... Brenda :)

Zacko ( ) posted Sun, 08 January 2006 at 9:12 AM

Yes it is the ones that I don't like right away that tend to grow on me like a fungus or something! Remember that first sunrise I dedicated to you? That was one of em! The one on my desktop right now I could never tire of sigh, it didn't need to grow on me, but I have one I need to put there in place of it to see how I like it. I change them around and back as necessary. Or I could post it here to see how you all like it... Brenda :)

Well I am messed up now. I like both. One I like becuase there is no branches in the way, then again the branches make a sort of nice photographic look. The architect of this bridge would probably be thrilled to have such a good picture.

Suh! en om I-stillbilden inte begriper egentligen puss-gurkan! ;^) Andreas,I like #3,the color is lovely, and I really like the POV...#4 is great, but it leaves me a bit cold...I guess I'm used to seeing more 'warmth' in your pics...#9 is wonderful.I guess that one is your preferred one as well. The car shot would be good in a collage, but only in that context,I think. And I like the moon shot...except I think the moon is a bit too large. It looks like it's taken on another planet or something. Then again, maybe you wanted that other-worldly look... Just thought I'd add my two-cents.It will be interesting to see the shots you loved from your roadtrip.I'm sure they're fabulous if you're that happy with them. :^) PS I wouldn't worry about the trad-polisen,lol. ;^)

Andreas, I like all the shots..but #6 the best. Somehow, the bridge seems too modern for the feeling of the scene but that is what is. With Nikki, this sort of photog can make poetry come out. I write both free verse and stuff with a rhyme on occasion, now that I am beyond the puppy college years of sobby poetry. ( Whew, to have spelt that ok is enough for me!) Nice road trip. I love to see slices of places I have not visited.
