You are soooo talented Modesty. If your pirouges are half as great as your drawings, you gotta ship me some!!!! #:oD

Oh by the way...a painter here in our town (Nils Boqvist), that is quite well known around here....came to compliment me on my website. Saying he liked my photos etc...and he also mentioned you. He said he had followed the link to your website and he had taken a look at your paintings and he was mighty impressed. Thats quite a compliment coming from this guy let me tell you. Anyway...just thought you might want to know. #:O)

How come we say 'It's colder than hell outside' when isn't it realistically always colder than hell since hell is supposed to be fire and brimstone?

Very nice Modesty. We had to do 'Kroki' drawings in art school, I enjoyed them quite a bit. Also the ones where you just look at the subject and not at what you are drawing. Thanks for sharing!

Nice kroki, Modesty :) I've never been very speedy when doing drawings and any model would probably fall asleep before I'm done...LOL Now...at least I want to see some of your drawings or paintings in the 2D gallery around here ;)

They're wonderful,Modesty! But you already know how much I admire your skill at these, don't you? I think Kort is talking about 'blind contour' drawing...where you draw your subject without looking at your paper...They end up quite bizarre most of the time!Almost like a Picasso! It reminds me of a funny story...When I was much younger, and in my first life-drawing class,we had a male model come in one day.Of course,he was nude.Well, the teacher had us do blind contour drawings of him,and all of us giggly teenage girls were forced to stare at him as we were drawing.(I guess the teacher figured we wouldn't look otherwise,lol)...And when all of our drawings were displayed at the end, this particular 'male' had become a eunuch in every picture!LOL!

Yes Marlene... I did understand Kort :) "blind contour" didnt know the english word for it though........ VEry god "etude" for not be so "stiff" just let go...with no "pretentions"..... All those "etes" are good to "grab" now and then....gets the brain.."flowing" better....I like to draw with both hands...very often...especially when I paint :) I allso like to change tools...especially when I "getting stuck"..... SUH @ your story...well teens gigles a lot ;) Muuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!!

I agree Modesty. They are wonderful ways to lose your pre-conceived ideas of how things look and just relax again and see. Switching tool is what I guess I did, when I switched from painting to photography and PS.I had reached a 'sticky point' in painting... But I bet that would've never happened if I were at your atelje! ;^) MWAH! Min mga begat och ursnyggt mutter vannen!-C.c. -<")
