very basic question. i want to open a poser 6 obj in another program to make a morph. the geometry files are obz, not obj and not zip. i searched the forum and found what i thought would be the solution post. it said use winzip. ok, i downloaded winzip 10.0. winzip gives me an error when i try to open the female...obz. the file extensions winzip says it recognizes are zip, mim, uu, uue, xxe, bhx, b64, and hqx. what am i missing?

rather than using winzip to open the obz file, you kind of have to do it the other way round.

Locate the obz file in Windows explorer, right click on it and use "open with" then pick winzip.

Hope that helps :)

You'll need to run the Python script RuntimePythonposerScriptsUtilityuncompressPoserFiles.py . You'll be given options regarding which files you want to uncompress and retaining the original.

Thank you PhilC. For others. I inadvertently uncompressed all the files in my Poser/Runtime folder by not highlighting anything when I ran the python script. Might come in useful if anyone wants to do that on purpose.

Another option is Poser Ungzip by Kawecki, in freestuff here.

I always use John's method: right-click, open with Winzip and replace the dot (.) with the missing character (obJ, pp2, etc.). Works fine and it is faster than opening Poser. ;o)

Ultimate Unwrap 3D will read them, also.
