Subject: how do I save nodes?

barrowlass ( ) posted Fri, 27 January 2006 at 3:19 AM · edited Tue, 26 November 2024 at 12:31 PM

I've got P6 and am playing in the material room. I apply my body textures with MPE - I find it easier. I then like to try out different nodes to give a nice skin effect. Now for my question: If I get a sequence of nodes which I like, say on the Skin/Torso can I save these nodes to apply to all body/head parts? I know nothing about writing python scripts so an idiot proof guide would be invaluable. thanx

Simply, in the material room, click the + sign in the material palette and save the material. Poser 6 gives you the option of saving a single material or a full "Mat pose". If you want a fast way to apply something to a full character, I'll suggest you get ShaderSpider from Daz, it's a GREAT tool! I couldn'tlive without it!

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

thanks ernyoka - will give it a whirl. I've really gotten into the mat room tho' a lot of my results are v. much trial and error but I've come up with a few nice effects. Will have a look at shader spider also.

I did this test render on one of my own textures using nodes suggested within the Improved SSS thread - link below:

I adapted the nodes slightly to taste and I'm quite happy with the results - it's my first attempt at this sort of thing.
