..... are they needed and if not, can I delete them. Also how can I stop them being created in the first place? OK, so I've only been using Poser (I'm on 6 now) for a year, lol.

They are P6's way of storing morphs externally from the PZ3. You can delete them, provided you first disable the "External Morphs" option, then open and re-save your PZ3s. If you delete them before you do these steps, you'll lose all the morphs you have already used and the next time you save a character, more PMDs will be saved.

Poser Morph Data (i think) never been bored enough to test, but from forums and stuff i think they store the characters morph info P5 and before used the project file to store it all P6 split it up, stored it externally preferences has an option to turn it off i think deleting them prolly makes all characters unmorph :P

I asked about this a little while back. I was advised to turn off external binary morphs in preferences and that fixed it.

The PMD's are a good and a bad feature of P6. My advise, turn them off, although the figures load faster with PMD but they can cause unexpected problems. For distributable morphs for P6 they are a great advantage. May be they will become more stable with the next SR's. Turn off the external morphs, load your figure and resave it. Thats it.

thanks for the advice. I've not encountered any problems, but i just wondered about PMDs. I use Injection Pose Builder to make my own face morphs so I may just leave things as they are for now
