THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Dual Monitors - Not sure if it's just a "Bryce Thing"

tastiger ( ) posted Thu, 02 February 2006 at 2:09 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 10:59 PM

After I switched to dual Monitors I noticed that Bryce 5 was only opening on monitor 1 and the maximise / minimise tab is greyed out which mean that I can't move it between monitors - as well it seems to be stuck in "Always on Top" mode so I can't even get to the taskbar. So I thought I may just have been Bryce 5 - but no 5.5 does it as well - I have no problems with any other application. This isn't an earth shattering thing as I just move the taskbar but I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? It's annoying 'specially when you are working with 2 or 3 apps open

I know there were issues with the Task-Bar when using Bryce5, but it was sorted in Bryce5.5 I think. I don't have two monitors on one machine, but I get the feeling that Bryces interface cannot span two monitors because of it's non-standard interface. I'm probably wrong though, so don't quote me on that. Len.

Not really interested in spanning the monitors - just be nice if I could drag it back and forth between monitors or even get it to open on monitor 2 - like every other program I use

Sounds like a "Bryce Thing" then. Have you tried getting at the Task-Bar by using the Windows key? Or failing that, you could try bringing up the Task-Manager (CTRL+ALT+DELETE), which can sometimes unlock stubborn screen-hogs!

Have you tried dragging Bryces toolbars (Create, Edit, Sky & the trackballs) over to a seperate monitor? That works, yes? Spacebar+click&drag. AS

Yep that works - so does task bar since I unlocked it - but still can't resize (see above for example of what I mean)- if it would resize then I could change monitors.

Hi, I'm running dual monitor set-up too.....and as far as I know Bryce always opens up maximised without the option to resize, so it will only open on monitor 1. Maybe worth having a word with Daz about fixing it in Bryce 6? Cheers.....Brian

Oh, yes. Especially since having dual monitors isn't ONLY in the realm of the wealthy anymore. And, its going to keep becoming more common in the coming year(s) for the masses. AS

Maybe if enough of us complain - they may just change it. Especially since having dual monitors isn't ONLY in the realm of the wealthy anymore Not just that - now that Bryce interacts with D|S - well two monitors are handy. Always work with both monitors when I'm using Poser/MojoWorld or Poser/Vue Thanks folks - at least I now know it's just not me.

Best thing is to suggest something to DAZ about making it work on duel monitors...don't complain about it, complaining never gets you anywhere ;)

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Sell them on it. And, I think tastiger has made THE point for it. AS
