If I have a few downloads in Vue>can they be used in P6? I am not familiar enough to know if some files can cross over. ThanX! CM

Is there water in your future or is it being shipped away to be resold to you?

No, I asked about that awhile back because I saw some really great things for Vue in the free stuff area. I was told you can't use Vue's files in Poser.

Some files that you can use are:

The normal poser ones obviously, and ones with "extension"
.obj
.3ds

With .obj you import them using "file", "import", "wavefront object". Once in poser you can resave it as a prop in your props library.

With the .3ds files you do the same thing, but you pick "studio max" instead.

Oh, and there is no such thing as a stupid question I discovered. I was terribly shy about asking for help when I first got poser.. hence it taking me months to be able to do my first render, and that was only because I finally asked for help, LOL Poser isn't an easy program to learn; it has a steep learning curve, at least for me anyway. Also, chances are if you are wondering then someone else is wondering too, and not everyone is brave enough to post asking questions because they think they will appear stupid, and that's just not the case.

Check the Vue files before you discard them; several artists offer multi-format models - Vue, 3DS, OBJ, etc - but only advertise them for one format. The Dek Transporter, for example, from a couple of days ago, is flagged as Vue but actually comes in all three of the formats I mentioned - which means you can use it in Bryce as well.

ThanX first to Acadia! You are a gem!!!! Hey I am thinking of getting a MSN Group together on Poser! Sound interesting? Let me know by messenger and we can exchange ideas and e-mails! ThanX Too, to you SteerPike! I will look! I never thought to investigate, just had what I had! Since I use P6 is there any programs that cross over? Like Bryce or Maya? This is just FYI stuff cause you never know down the line when something cool might come along! CM

Unfortunally you can't, that was another reason I stopped using Vue, it's very export unfriendly. I don't like applications that do not interact with others, unless you spent lot's of money.

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

Quote - Hey I am thinking of getting a MSN Group together on Poser!

I already had one started and many "poser veterans" signed up to help write tutorials and answer questions etc. However MSN changed their rules and any nudity or partial nudity is now deemed XXX and those groups are shuffled off to an adult group site that caters to "adult" sites. Not some place I want a group of mine hosted on. So I scrapped the idea. I left my group up at MSN in case things change again, but MSN is now a "general" rated group site.

well nothing like a little censorship to promote the arts eh? I wonder if this also covers Michaelangelo and other great artists? Well the thought was sweet as it was brief! LOL! ;) CM
