After seeing some of the flying rock piles here, I though I'd throw my hat in the ring. I didn't spend a lot of time on it so don't expect too much. I may go back and play with it some more...untill something else grabs my attention.

Well what can I say...This rocks! ;) Those must be very brave knights. I like the rusty chain links and the flying horse. The docking bay/entrance is cool too. The little house attached by chain is a nice touch.

Thanks for the nice comments. It's a griffin, actually. I should have turned him a little bit more so the head could be seen. The little house on the chain is a take on a very old gag about a car pulling a trailer with another tiny trailer behind it...for the mother-in-law. Circa mid 1950s. I was going to make it an outhouse, but it didn't show up too well as it was so small.

Bigger? Hmmm...bigger means more detail..more scope...more fun! It'd give me a chance to correct some mistakes. I'll see what I can do! lindans: Jump on in! exercise and makes a great subject for a friendly competition. Maybe we could flood the gallery with flying rocks!

Oh, I like it! Great job. What's the rent like?
PS: If anybody's interested, I've posted a slightly larger and a little different version in the gallery under the Bryce/Fantasy section.

I read this thread and so I said to self, Willie, you dont need no stinkin tut to pile up rocks. One hour later and 12 minutes of render I got a pile that looks like ____ and the danged things wont float. So. I attached them to something that always floats over water and viola! :) Stupid, I know but fun to make.

For the rocks? I think it's one of the standard Bryce textures. I'm not sure which one, but it's nothing special. The building textures are the defaults that came with one of the Dystopia free sets. The only thing I made were the billboards and the signs in them. They're left over from an old project. The only thing I wish I did differently is added lights to the bottom of the billboards and maybe have done the whole shot at night. But, it would have been a nightmare to light and I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Nice work! There's a lot of nice detail to sit and look at, which I think really makes a picture interesting. Nice work on the dragon as well. I gotta get me one of those someday...Thumbs up all around!
