Site Admin

AoxomoxoA, After further investigation, it appears your account was not involved in the recent piracy issues even though the member name was very similar. We regret any inconvenience this has caused you and we will post a public statement to this effect. We have unbanned your account effective immediately. tammy

Hello, I'm relatively new to Poser and this forum, its a great place I can say that much though. The artists work is amazing and the help is second to none:) In a unrelated matter, I've been watching this hot topic over the course of a few days and I'm putting myself out here a bit by saying that the admins and powers that be at Renderosity would both do well to choose their words more carefully and to refrain from baseless acusations, ie: this very thread topic. IMHO. I agree, the recent events were tasteless, however, I don't think its a stretch to envision someone so wrongly and inaccurately accused as AoxomoxoA as taking legal action against Renderosity for liable and defamation, again IMHO. When this happens, this last thing this community will have to worry about is piracy, it will exaust its funds in the courts defending itself for the recklessness mentioned above. I'd hate to see that happen to such a fine community as the Renderosity community. I'm done :)! steps off the soap box and stumbles..... Regards,,, Snippy

Snippy, you are so right! I tried to make that point in a questionable banning and they broke the Terms of Service and moved the banning notice to the Debate forum (The Terms EXPRESSLY say, in regards to a banned person: "*An announcement will be posted in the Forum News and Team Contact Forum as to the nature of the banning.*" . I am guessing that they moved it there so less people would see it and not question them. The person may have been asking for illegal software or may have been confused... I guess we'll neer know. And it appears that English may not even have been the person's first language... I am REALLY disappointed in the admins lately. They are going to end up in court and the company that sponsers Renderosity is going to pull the plug.

I am guessing that they moved it there so less people would see it and not question them. <<<<< I think you should take their word as to why they moved it, otherwise you're being more presumptuous than you accuse them of being. I can assure you that there are plenty of people looking in on the C&D forum... [And if the admins were to be as pedantic as you, they could simply point out that an announcement WAS posted in this forum. The TOS don't say, expressly or implicitly (or split infinitively ;-)), that the post will remain here - so they didn't break them.)] I'm all for members 'questioning' the admin, but with this 'Peggy' issue, you've done so with a house of cards built on quicksand.

{The person may have been asking for illegal software or may have been confused... I guess we'll neer know.} If you would look at the rest of the thread, you'd know. {yes, she admitted she made a warez request and apologized for it.} If you look closely at the banning entry for this one you can see how a mistake could be made. I think it very noble of the admins to admit they made a mistake and post a public apology. Keep up the good work guys.
