I have these wonderful wings designed for me by Helen for my Tabitha..but the file size is huge...any way of making it smaller without sacrificing the quality? Bear in mind, I have no clue how to do this myself....TIA

Geez you'd have to export the geom to an obj, bring it into a 3d package, then hopefully you can optimize it down. Yes, this will degrade the quality but, sometimes modellers put way more polygons in than necessary. That's the only way I know of.

What is the file size? http://www.geomagic.com/products/decimate/

There are two wings, and each one is over 10 meg...zipped, the file is 3.9 meg.

Wow, that is big. I haven't tested the trial version of Decimate, but it's supposed to be able to do what you need. The trial version will leave holes in the mesh when saved, but I figured those could be refilled in a modeler if it works out. -JH.

heyas; just be sure the decimator doesn't leave polygons with more than four sides. you can test it (and fix it) with depent, which is available here in the free stuff utilities.
