Hi. Is there anyone out there with Miki who could point me in the direction of some 'naked' renders - no postwork as well as no clothes and with global lighting if possible - so I can see what everyone is talking about Miki being short, having odd knuckles, etc. as well as get a better idea of her before I make that purchase... Also, what happens to her joints uner 'extreme' posing? Do her knees crinkle or explode when kneeling, etc.? TIA

Blitter ( ) posted Thu, 16 February 2006 at 2:42 PM

Her body isn't that great. The head is realllly good tho. The forearms are very odd..worst part. The rest of her body is fine. If this means anything, the best would be if you get Miki's head on V3's body.

momodot ( ) posted Thu, 16 February 2006 at 3:26 PM

Different opinion. Body is wonderful. One of the most realistic ever. Facial expressions are superior. No morphs to speak of. Absurdly heavy mesh... why does the market demand these insane poly counts. Have not seen realistic everyday clothes aside from some jeans and T-shirt... rest is leather pin-up stuff. There are some free out-on-the-town club clothes and some dynamic stuff.

Miki has her own category here in the RMP so looking at some of the character packs might help get an idea of her proportions etc. I think she's a really great character, very realistic and the deal at eFrontier is pretty good value at the moment. She does have several "ordinary" clothes packs in the RMP too, nekoja's Winter Clothes is a good one, as is idler168's "Outfit for Miki".

IMO, Miki is the best figure available at the moment. Sure, she has a big number of vertices but if you look at the details of the mesh, great. If you look at the clumpy private part of the unimesh hip and compare it with Miki, the difference is tremendous, same with the chest. The Head morphs are great and makes her face very versatile. If you lok at V3, all teh morphs can't prevent her fron looking somehow similar.

Sure, the joints could be improved but and the freestuff is not that much as for V3 but the number is growing daily, look at the thread . About 10 clothes with a lot of different shapes for each and several texture options.

Miki is definately capable of a lot. Here she is in a rather crumbled pose. IMO her underarms looks just fine. The pose is a (heavily) tweaked Maya Doll pose. She generally reacts better to non-Millennium poses, her hands go wonky if you use a V3 pose on her (there's a fix out for that though) Yes, there are issues at her knees, but practically any Poser character has this problem. Her hip bends nicely IMO. Isn't the Collector's Edition out on CL by now? There's more "ordinary" clothes in that pack. And at a GREAT price if you're a Passport member

I dont know I dont think this http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=1152125&Start=1&Artist=dasquid&ByArtist=Yes looks much like V3 at all you just have to work at it to get a unique face. I do think Miki is a great figure though I just wish they would come out with more good morphs for her both face and body.

Check at RDNA. There are morphs and clothes there as well as hair. Miki has here own catagory. Cheers DR

Here's a nekkid Miki from my Gallery: Indoor Swimming.

There is postwork, but no painting on the image to hide bad joints or such, just the usual color corrections and such. I haven't done much with her so far. All I can say is I love the way she looks. The most realistic face and body on any Poser figure ever. I wasn't so happy with the way she bends, but then, it always takes some time to get used to a particular figure and her rigging.

I am a Miki fan. I like her body and expressions. I had to make alterations to her included texture maps which, IMO, are too red for an Oriental human being.

In these images she is shown with default body. I applied new structure to her face with Colm's head morphs. Hair is Wild Hair.

I feel the same as Bitter, great face (and hands), but her body has lots of issues when posing. I have to set her body to fashion model height to make it useable for my renders. I have all the morphs and while they help, they are very lacking in options.

I have to say that if post #6 is the default face morph, that is absolutely horrid...

No, it isn't the default.

You can make a lot of things with Miki, the high density mesh offers you enough polygons to get very good morphs.

Here is an image that I did recently, hope it helps you to see what can be done with her:

My pic didn't show the "default" face morph. Besides, I do not agree that it's "horrid" - but I guess we like different looks in people. Some probably think someone like Paris Hilton looks good as well....

OperaGuy's Miki face took my breath away. Talk about stepping into a Kurosawa film. If you wanted to know why we love Miki, I'd just show you that picture. The combination of Miki and the Face Room is dynamite, and if you think Miki is "short," make a run down to Cajun country, where some of the most beautiful women in the world are less than five feet tall and most definitely not babies with boobs ... er, I mean faeries. The only thing "horrid" about the Post 6 face is that the smile is not quite right. Lips stretched that much would be less fleshy and closer to the skull. Ironically, Miki also has the most believeable smile of any Poser female I've seen: But that ain't it. And Paris Hilton's face looks like somebody sucked a half-liter of air out of her head. On a trivial note: Please take a look at the bend on Miki's ankles in Ernyoka's Post 6. I've never seen any discussion of it, but very few figures can actually bend their feet the way real people do. operaguy ( ) posted Fri, 17 February 2006 at 5:56 AM

There's another female character with a great smile: Nikki So Alive by Posermatic, which in turn depends on Eternal Judy who depends on P5NudeWoman. His post above reminded me of Nikki. Thank you for the compliment mickmca, there will be more renders of Amaya (that's the girl in post 10) within the next week. I have a serious, life-long crush on the beautiful women of Japan, and working with Miki is pleasure for me. ::::: Opera :::::

operaguy ( ) posted Fri, 17 February 2006 at 6:07 AM

odf, cool miki in goggles! That is certainly the default body, and it rings true, really true; this is a Japanese or perhaps Korean body, even if the breasts are a little large (easily morphed down or magnetted down.) ::::: Opera :::::

Just wanna say thanks...to everyone for advice and pointers. Now the Miki SE is bundled with the Poser 6 UG I think I may be about to make a spending decision...thanks all.

mauroRiisho ( ) posted Sun, 19 February 2006 at 8:27 AM

Speaking of Miki, I immediately noticed that the mesh has holes at the juncture of right/left thighs and hip, rear. That is with figure in default pose. What wrong??? As anybody noticed this? What to do?

Poser 6, OS X Does the shading rate / crease angle have anything to do with it? or is the mesh just defective? Your help would be appreciated
