I'm ready to start setting up Morphs for Miki but cannot seem to import as a morph taget without the dreaded "wrong vertice count" error. I redid the entire body in ZB2 from the original .obj I trieed running the MOD.obj through Compose to see if that could straighten it out...no luck. Perhaps run the original through 1st?..and restart all over..#p Also tried to hack the Miki.cr2 to accept my MOD.obj. No go. It comes in invisible even though there is a figure listed in hierachy and maps show in matroom. It's not a scale issue. Someone must have done this by now. A pity as I really worked on her. Reset her forearms and knocked off all the hard chines, too. Any ideas?

Only a thought because I dont use Miki
You are somehow changing the vertices count in Zbrush.
Are you sub-dividing the mesh in Zbrush to work on, then bringing it back down (level 1) for export?
If so, one thing I found you CANT do, is any smoothing in the divided stateIll get the "wrong vertice count" error every time.
I can use the smooth brush with no problems but only after I do the shaping and the mesh is brought back down to level1.

BTW Your morphs look really nice.

Swamp! Yes, exported at sub1. Miki gets export/import errors everywhere. Even has a UVmap error on Right Toe. I've skirted it for a while... No smoothing at sub2??? That's where the money is. Fine tuning et al. If that's true, I lose twice. Her mesh is too loose to do much at sub1. I'll have to test this. Thanks

Is there still a Miki.pmd in the "new" cr2? I ran into that problem when making a stripped down conformer rig for the Poser6 family. If so, delete the references to the pmd from the "new" cr2. Hopefully, it should work fine. -Starkdog

Starkdog, There are 3 refs to .pmd. I tried killing all 3. No avail. Maybe just the first 2 character refs over the .obj's? I'll try that.

Well Actually my statement about you cant smooth at sub-divided levels is not completely correct. If you are working with a mesh that has not been welded (meaning welded when exported from Poser or welded when imported into Zbrush) then you dont run into problems. However it is (for me) visually difficult to work like that in ZB as when you smooth two adjoining bodyparts they separate. In reality they arent separated and the morphs will work fine in Poser, but seeing what Im doing with large gaps between the body parts is a real PITA.

ZB2 has a few more buttns if you haven't upgraded. I read a thread on the use of "crease". I cannot remember how I did it. It pertains only to Miki and other P5,6 figures as you know. Miki will not smooth at sub1 without some weld or crease function enabled. I need to write everything down from now on.

Checking something out....I'll "IM" you.

Bummer! Yeah, I had lots of problems, too, when I tried to use ZB2 for making Poser morphs. That's one of the reasons I started to make my own model. :)

Have you tried installing the morphs using Pozer's Little Helper? It usually worked for me, though not all the time.
Beautiful morph, by the way!

I'm watching that model thread, odf! I tried to post a couple of mega resonses and forgot to "copy" before upload. Just as well. Most of the stuff has been dealt with by you. I've got PLH and MManager. The workflow is evolving. svdl posted a few new py scripts to speed up the process, if you don't already have them. Glad you approve. Just hope I don't need to redo it. Then again, a friend just said he could fix most of the problems including upping the meshcount at her elbows. That would be worth a redo to me. UVmapper fix too.

richardson, Sorry, I was waiting for my next-door neighbor/friend to come home as he has both Poser6 and Zbrush on his laptop. I thought (from what he said), he had Miki, but alas it was Aiko so I couldnt play around with Miki.

Bookmarked because I'm afraid I run in the same problems soon...

I'm not always right, but my mistakes are more interesting!

And I am not strange, I am Limited Edition!

I think the reason why your MOD.obj is not working with the cr2 ( invisible Miki) is that you lost the body groups when you exported the final obj. When Poser does not find the same body groups in the mesh the figure loads with missing body parts. maybe this could help:

Merci, D I'll give that a try. And I've read that tut! Getting old. I think I've solved the 1st problem. I just have to face exporting every prop of the body with a ctrl/alt/del on each part. I dread it.
