http://www.iomega-activedisk.com/servlet/moonshine/goto?page_url=/titles/title_detail.jsp&title_id=140 Full Description: trueSpace3 was originally priced at $595.00. Now it's yours for free! This is the full working version with nothing removed or crippled, no time limits, and no watermarks anywhere! Registration for an unlock code and a PDF manual is required. The code can be obtained at the following URL: http://forms.caligari.com/forms/ts32_iomega.html trueSpace3 matched the "high end" 3D software of its time feature by feature and at the same time blazed the trail with the next generation true 3D interface which takes full advantage of 3D acceleration. Features include: various polyhedron primitives as starting points. Powerful point editing, smoothing, sweeping, and deformation tools for primitive manipulation. Amazing metaballs object and plastiform tools to create complex organic shapes through interactive blending. Support for multiple spot, local, and infinite lights. A full physics simulation engine and inverse kinematics for jointed articulation. There are also libraries of flexible materials and textures with full UV mapping control, 3D paint, and decals. A large percentage of everything can be animated and full editing control of animation is provided through a keyframe editor. A large number of file format import options and a variety of export formats add to the flexibility and compatability with other programs. Output formats include a variety of options for rendered stills, animation, or VRML. A very active support community is available for support and interaction. Large selections of 3rd party plug-ins are waiting to provide extra capabilities.

This version has been around for free for ages! They are at version 7 now. I haven't tried it though. You get Lightwave 7.5 LE for free too, with some limitations, but much more recent, so I guess more powerful too. You even get Maya 7 ple for free. Limitations and watermarks, but you can model, save and export.
