Is a radial prop an acceptable substitute for the noded solution I posted a few weeks back? This is a 128 poly cylinder with one end at the center of the other. You can get one as detailed as you would like using wings. But I am still unsure of the best method to uv map it, before adjusting the geometry. Positives: u and v become the angle and the radius. The arctan is the result of geometry not nodes, so it renders much faster. The 2D textures wrap around the center, just drop them on. Negatives: Not as dynamic, for instance the center is fixed. The 3D textures will not bend. The after math is still just as hard, maybe harder because the previews are (arent) skewed.
