I'm going for one of those high-tech medical detention/experimentation facilities (think The Initiative, for any Buffy watchers). But... I'm only using cubes. (hopefully) So far I've got 1287 cubes, with plenty more to come. C&Cs welcome.

and Why don't you use a single cube with the appropriate texture for the ground and the walls??

2 words; copy, paste..or even better, 1 word; duplicate (probably could replicate, though I've not used that..;)
to be honest, wouldn't it be easier to just create the basic shapes, and then texture with a 'cube-y' texture? unless you like making cubes..just trying to save you some work there..good idea tho..;)

I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

I have issues with texturing sometimes, and this way I can easily do things like broken tiles and changing orientations. Actually assembled from sections of 25 tiles, multirepped onto a base (for the grouting texture). I'm not entirely insane :)
